Married is a part of Sunnah for Muslims as the Prophet Muhammad mentions in the hadith of Sunan Ibn Majah. As for Muslims, so many of them believe that marriage becomes a part of a good deed to seeking some gratitude from Allah such as reciting the Quran and getting some values of the surah Luqman.
For some reason that in so many years Muslims believe that marriage becomes one of the ways to become closer to Allah. As they doing one of the Sunnah from the Prophet, they also good some deeds such as make a new connection through the new family that they getting married into.
Speaking of marriage, this time we will bring you into some of the Dua that you can recite for newlywed based on the Quran. For some of them, they may need some Dua since they will be doing everything new for the first time.
Some Muslims may be wondering about the vacillation life before marriage and after the marriage sentence. As they become a new married couple, anxiety may come through them. That is why is it better to recite the Uran surah Ar-Rum verse 21 as the dua for the serenity for the newlywed below. وَمِنْ اٰيٰتِهٖٓ اَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُمْ مِّنْ اَنْفُسِكُمْ اَزْوَاجًا لِّتَسْكُنُوْٓا اِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُمْ مَّوَدَّةً وَّرَحْمَةً ۗاِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَّتَفَكَّرُوْنَ – ٢١
“And among His great signs, He created pairs for you of your own kind, so that you might be inclined and at ease with him, and He made between you a feeling of love and affection. Indeed, in this, there are really signs (the greatness of Allah) for the people who think.” (QS 30:21)
It is important to every Muslim to get some of Allah’s blessings including on their marriage. That is why, as the newlywed seeking the blessing from Allah by reciting the verse in the Quran Al Mumtahanah verse 12 below.
يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ اِذَا جَاۤءَكَ الْمُؤْمِنٰتُ يُبَايِعْنَكَ عَلٰٓى اَنْ لَّا يُشْرِكْنَ بِاللّٰهِ شَيْـًٔا وَّلَا يَسْرِقْنَ وَلَا يَزْنِيْنَ وَلَا يَقْتُلْنَ اَوْلَادَهُنَّ وَلَا يَأْتِيْنَ بِبُهْتَانٍ يَّفْتَرِيْنَهٗ بَيْنَ اَيْدِيْهِنَّ وَاَرْجُلِهِنَّ وَلَا يَعْصِيْنَكَ فِيْ مَعْرُوْفٍ فَبَايِعْهُنَّ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُنَّ اللّٰهَ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ – ١٢
“O Prophet! When women who believe come to you to perform Bai’at (faithful pledge), that they will not associate anything with Allah; Will not steal, will not commit adultery, will not kill their children, will not lie that they fabricate between their hands and feet and will not disobey you in good affairs, so accept their pledge of loyalty and ask forgiveness for them from Allah. Truly, Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (QS 60:12)
Wishing a grateful marriage for a newlywed is a must. As they will having so many experiences of their marriage life such as doing parenting an Islamic perspective, seeking the grateful marriage towards Allah is important.
Reciting the Quran surah Al Ahzab verse 37 may help your newlywed’s life becomes more grateful.
وَاِذْ تَقُوْلُ لِلَّذِيْٓ اَنْعَمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ اَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ زَوْجَكَ وَاتَّقِ اللّٰهَ وَتُخْفِيْ فِيْ نَفْسِكَ مَا اللّٰهُ مُبْدِيْهِ وَتَخْشَى النَّاسَۚ وَاللّٰهُ اَحَقُّ اَنْ تَخْشٰىهُ ۗ ٣٧
“And (remember), when you (Muhammad) say to the person who has been given a favor by Allah and you (also) have given him a favor, “Keep your wife and fear Allah,” you are hiding in your heart what will be revealed by Allah, and you are afraid of humans, even though Allah has more right for you to fear. “ (QS 33:37)
As a newlywed couple, you may experience something new relationship between you and your spouses such as knowing the differences between Hibah and Wasiyat. That makes you realized that something may not as expected as you are in your new life before the marriage happen.
That is why reciting the Quran surah Al Ahzab for your spouse is better to make her safe around you. The dua also can make you and your spouse more comfortable going in your newlywed life.
يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُلْ لِّاَزْوَاجِكَ وَبَنٰتِكَ وَنِسَاۤءِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ يُدْنِيْنَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ جَلَابِيْبِهِنَّۗ ذٰلِكَ اَدْنٰىٓ اَنْ يُّعْرَفْنَ فَلَا يُؤْذَيْنَۗ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوْرًا رَّحِيْمًا – ٥٩
“O Prophet! Say to your wives, daughters, and wives of believers, “Let them cover their veils all over their bodies.” This is so that they are easier to identify so that they are not disturbed. And Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (QS 33:59)
As the sentence of marriage is said by the couple, both of them become the halal couple under the marriage name. That makes Muslims understand the rule to becomes closer to their spouse only.
As mention in the Quran surah Al Ahzab verse 52 below that you can recite for a newlywed couple as the dua for strengthening marriage. The dua is perfect to avoid some unwanted special relationship with other women or men.
لَا يَحِلُّ لَكَ النِّسَاۤءُ مِنْۢ بَعْدُ وَلَآ اَنْ تَبَدَّلَ بِهِنَّ مِنْ اَزْوَاجٍ وَّلَوْ اَعْجَبَكَ حُسْنُهُنَّ اِلَّا مَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِيْنُكَۗ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ رَّقِيْبًا ࣖ – ٥٢
“It is not lawful for you (Muhammad) to marry (other) women after that, and you must not (also) replace them with (other) wives, even though their beauty attracts your heart except for the women (slave) you have. And Allah is Supervising all things.” (QS 33:52)
