The moon have become a significant thing in islamic religion. We all knew that islamic calendar are based on the cycle of the moon. To determine our holy or sacred day we also rely on the cycle of moon.
Allah created the sun and the moon to circle in its orbit and create the night and day based on that orbit.
“And He subjected for you the sun and the moon, continuous (in orbit), and subjected for you the night and the day.” (QS. Ibrahim : 33)

The effects of full moon in Islam is clear that it is a phase of moon that used for some perpose. And there is also a hadith for muslims to perform worship such as fasting around the full moon time. We will discuss further about the effects of full moon in Islam as the following:
“It is He who made the sun a shinning light and the moon derived and determined for it phases – that you may know the number of years and account of time. Allah has not created this except in truth. He details for a people who know.” (QS. Yunus : 5)
From the above verse we learn that the effects of full moon in islam are,
1. A sign of Allah SWT
Full moon is a sign that given to mankind the very existence of Allah SWT. It remind the believers that everything in this world belong to Allah and follow His command.
2. Show the beauty of Allah’s creation

3. Encourage mankind to studied about the phase of moon
In islam we knew that the calender system is using the phase of the moon. The phase of the moon from the above verse is a guidance for mankind in order to help them to counted time and determine the date, month, and year.
4. It shows mankind that the teaching of Islam is true
What is written in the Al-Qur’an is true since the source of the knowledge is from Allah SWT the Knowing and Righteous One. Thus, the full moon and all phase of moon is the evidence that what is written in Al-Qur’an is true and already proven by the science and knowledge nowadays. [AdSense-B]
5. Full moon is important in Islam that Allah may swear on it
“And (by) the moon when it becomes full. That you will surely experience state after state. So what is (the matter) with them (that) they do not believe, and when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not prostrate (to Allah)?But those who have disbelieved deny. And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves.” (QS. Al-Inshiqaq : 18-24)
There are two phase of moon that easy to distint between the other which are crescent moon phase and full moon phase. Those two also given a lot of attention in mankind and islamic history.
6. It affected the knowledge and science in mankind
Another effects of full moon in Islam and among mankind is that the full moon gave a lot of benefits in knowledge and scientific matter.
“And the moon – We have determined for it phases. until it returns (appearing) like the old date stalk.” (QS. Yasin : 39)
As we all know that the full moon is the culmination of the shape of the moon. After that, the moon will slowly turn into a lump moon, then become half moon, and finally return to the crescent moon. That is how the moon phase work and it has been studied by scientiest for a long time ago.
7. It was a form of gift and blessing from Allah SWT
When people not knowing how the moon phase work and what is the knowledge lies on it, the people from ancient time related full moon and other moon phase with occult things or a lot of superstition. But in Islam we learn that full moon or moon in general is a gift and blessing from Allah,
“And He subjected for you the sun and the moon, continous (in orbit), and subjected for you the night and the day.”
indeed, Allah is the most Gracious and Merciful to His people.
8. With the lunar calendar muslim is able to determine our sacred Days
Indeed that moon help scholar of Islam to studied about time, days, month, years, and determined our sacred Days.

9. The beauty of full moon is associated with the face of Rasulullah SAW
Muslims nowadays never knew the exact face of Rasullah, we may miss him in our deepest heart. But there is a hadith that associated the face of Rasullah with the beauty of full moon,
“Glad tidings to the one who believed in me and saw me, and sevenfold glad tiding to the one who believed in me but did not see mee.” (Narrated by Ahmad)
From the description of Rasulullah that appearance is a pleasure to the believers, who missed the age of his physical appearance but the still believed his every word and deed. But then the companions expalin the fasical expressiend and state of pleasure that reflect on the face of Rasullah is like the bright shine of full moon,
Abu Ishaq narrated that Al-Baraa’ asked,
“Was the face of the Prophet (as bright) as sword?’ later he said, ‘No, but (as bright) as a moon.” (Narrated by Bukhari)
Jabir Ibn Samurah said,
“I saw him on one night of the full moon. I looked at him, He was dressed in reddish garment. I compared him with the moon and found that, for he was better thatn the moon.” (Narrated by Mishkaat Al-Masabih)
10. The full moon is true beauty

11. It resemble the first group of believers entering paradise
Abu Hurairah, narrated that Rasulullah SAW said,
“The first group (of people) to enter Jannah will be shining like the moon on a full moon night.”
12. It resemble the first group of believers entering paradise
“Some faces, that Day, will be radiant, looking at their Lord.” (QS. Al-Qiyamah : 22-23)
The full moon will reminder muslims to the reward for those who always follow His guidance and perform good deeds. In which the Judgement Day came their face will shine like a radiant of full moon.
Jareer Ibn ‘Abdullah reported, “We were sitting with the Prophet, looking at the mon on the night of the fourteenth (of the month). He said, ‘You will see your Lord with your own eyes just as you are looking at this (moon), without any doubt that you are seeing Him.”
13. It will be a reminder for muslim to perform worship to Allah SWT
The prophet said,
“Fasting three days of every month (13th, 14th, 15th) is equal to fasting the life time.” (Narrated by Al-Albani)
