5 Islamic Law of Online Investment that Useful for You

Islamic law of online investment become a trending topic lately. As technology evolves beyond, there are so many aspects that grow around the faster flow of it including online investment.

Islamic law of online investment is commonly taken based on the shari’a rules. Most of those rules are encourage Muslims to do some investment for the best future they hope in the Islamic way.

Muslims do concern that investment is important as it could help them in one or another way. That is why some Muslims take some encouragement to do so, even doing it online that become so popular lately.

But, how about the Islamic law of online investment take seriously this popular phenomenon? Some Muslims believe it is lawful to do, but some of them are also against the idea.

Speaking of it, here we have some reasons why doing online investment is lawful to do. Most of them are based on the Quran so Muslims believe it is permissible to do just like the rules of borrowing money in Islam law.

1. Invest For the Best Future

Muslim always taught to make a good preparation even for life and so does at the here-after. That is why, some Muslims believe that doing an investment, even it is an online investment is an important thing to prepare including doing online investment or online business from an Islamic perspective. Just like mentioned in the Quran surah Al Hasyr verse 18 below.

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَلْتَنْظُرْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ لِغَدٍۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ خَبِيْرٌ ۢبِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ – ١٨

“O, you who believe! Fear Allah and let everyone pay attention to what he has done for tomorrow (hereafter), and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Aware of what you do.” (QS 59:18)

Even so, as choose the right platform for investment online should be taken carefully. If Muslims took the wrong platform, it will be dangerous and wasted for them. Choosing the right platform should be done by some research. Make sure that the platform for online investment is safe and wouldn’t do any fraud.

2. Invest to Answer the Uncertainty

Just like a faith that Muslims bring to life and the next time they live at the here-after, an investment can be the one that answers those uncertainties. Most Muslims have no idea about their future so do the investment, even it is the online investment type could be the best thing they can do such as doing some virtual gold investment from an Islamic perspective.

Such as mentions in the Quran surah Lukman verse 34 that brings uncertainty in life.

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عِنْدَهٗ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِۚ وَيُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَۚ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى الْاَرْحَامِۗ وَمَا تَدْرِيْ نَفْسٌ مَّاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًاۗ وَمَا تَدْرِيْ نَفْسٌۢ بِاَيِّ اَرْضٍ تَمُوْتُۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلِيْمٌ خَبِيْرٌ ࣖ – ٣٤

“Verily only with Allah is knowledge of the Day of Judgment, and He who sends down the rain, and knows what is in the wombs. And no one can know (with certainty) what he will do tomorrow. And no one can know on which earth he will die. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Knowing.” (QS 31:34)

3. Invest for Your Luck

Muslims know properly that factor luck can be a good thing to get in life. Because of that, taking the online investment can help the platform to bring a good deed for them. Moreover, if the investment platform is a trusted platform that would never deceive them.

As Muslims believe to do those kinds of good deeds so that luck will come to them as a blessing way from Allah such as getting some benefits of sadaqah in Ramadhan. As mentioned in the Quran surah Al Baqarah verse 261 below.

مَثَلُ الَّذِيْنَ يُنْفِقُوْنَ اَمْوَالَهُمْ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ اَنْۢبَتَتْ سَبْعَ سَنَابِلَ فِيْ كُلِّ سُنْۢبُلَةٍ مِّائَةُ حَبَّةٍ ۗ وَاللّٰهُ يُضٰعِفُ لِمَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ ۗوَاللّٰهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيْمٌ – ٢٦١

“The parable of the person who spends his wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed that grows seven stalks, on each stalk, there are a hundred seeds. Allah multiplies for whom He wills, and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Knowing.” (QS 2:261)

4. Invest for Your Inherit

Muslims believe that they should give some of the wills of their wealth to their inheritance. Doing the investment even it is online, can help them to get their wish come true. That is why they should choose the right platform to get good on their online investment.

As it mentions in the Quran surah An Nisa verse 9 below.

وَلْيَخْشَ الَّذِيْنَ لَوْ تَرَكُوْا مِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّةً ضِعٰفًا خَافُوْا عَلَيْهِمْۖ فَلْيَتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَلْيَقُوْلُوْا قَوْلًا سَدِيْدًا – ٩

“And let fear (of Allah) those who if they leave weak offspring behind them who they worry about (welfare). Therefore, let them fear Allah, and let them speak with the right words.” (QS 4:9)

5. Avoid the Investment with high Usury

Muslims know better as they should avoid Riba or the typical high usury that commonly happens in loans and debt in Islamic law. That is why in choosing the right platform for their online investment should consider the interest rate they will get. Such mentions on the Quran surah Al Baqarah verse 278 below.

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَذَرُوْا مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ الرِّبٰوٓا اِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ – ٢٧٨

“O, you who believe! Fear Allah and leave the rest of usury (which has not been collected) if you are believers.” (QS 2:278)

If the rate of interest is too high, Muslims should be aware of the platform. They may put some high usury trick behind. Instead of worrying that much, it is better to choose the platform that uses the Syaria rules.
