6 Types of Sadaqah in Islam that Makes You More Grateful

Sadaqah or charity becomes one of the good deeds in Islam that Muslims believe it will not be cut easily even if they die. That makes Sadaqah becomes so important for Muslims. They can do it wherever and whenever they want with no limit amount.

Moreover, there are no minimum requirements to do which means everyone can do the sadaqah as long as they are capable of it. During Ramadhan, Muslims believe that Allah will multiply the rewards for their good deeds. That makes sense during that holy month Muslims will do more Sadaqah rather than the usual month.

Speaking of Sadaqah, here we have some types of Sadaqah in Islam that recite from the Quran that makes you more grateful. Let’s check them out below!

1. Sadaqah Sirriyyah

Sadaqah Sirriyah is a kind of Sadaqah which secretly done by Muslims. Even so, this kind of Sadaqah has the same values of good deeds in forwards to seek Allah’s blessing as one of the ways on how to increase Iman in Islam. Such as mentions in the Quran surah Al Baqarah verse 271 below.

اِنْ تُبْدُوا الصَّدَقٰتِ فَنِعِمَّا هِيَۚ وَاِنْ تُخْفُوْهَا وَتُؤْتُوْهَا الْفُقَرَاۤءَ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ ۗ وَيُكَفِّرُ عَنْكُمْ مِّنْ سَيِّاٰتِكُمْ ۗ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِيْرٌ – ٢٧١

“If you give your alms, then that is good. And if you hide it and give it to the poor, it is better for you and Allah will erase some of your faults. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.” (QS 2:271)

2. Sadaqah After You Fulfil Your Needs

Muslims believe it is better to doing Sadaqah after you are capable to fulfil your needs. That doesn’t mean that you should do the Sadaqah after you get rich, but at least your basic needs are fulfilled enough. Such as mentions on the Quran surah Al Baqarah verse 219 below.

 يَسْـَٔلُوْنَكَ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِۗ قُلْ فِيْهِمَآ اِثْمٌ كَبِيْرٌ وَّمَنَافِعُ لِلنَّاسِۖ وَاِثْمُهُمَآ اَكْبَرُ مِنْ نَّفْعِهِمَاۗ وَيَسْـَٔلُوْنَكَ مَاذَا يُنْفِقُوْنَ ەۗ قُلِ الْعَفْوَۗ كَذٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللّٰهُ لَكُمُ الْاٰيٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَفَكَّرُوْنَۙ – ٢١٩

“They ask you (Muhammad) about alcohol and gambling. Say, “In both of them there is a great sin and some benefits for people. But the sin is greater than the benefit.” And they ask you (about) what they should spend. Say, “Excess (than what is necessary).” Thus Allah explains His verses to you so that you may think about it,” (QS 2:219)

Some people may get some doubt about how your needs are completely fulfilled. But remember as long as your basic needs fulfilled properly Allah may not be left you with a flaw after you doing Sadaqah.

3. Sadaqah With Your Maximum Capacity

Sadaqah with your maximum capacity is better than nothing at all comparing to the rules of Zakat Al Fitr. Some Muslims commonly do their best in doing Sadaqah which they wish Allah will give them back in multiply amount.

As Muslims believe the sentence of multiply amount that makes some of them will do their best in Sadaqah which belief as one of the ways on how to increase wealth in Islam. Such as mentions in the Quran surah Al Baqarah verse 261 below.

مَثَلُ الَّذِيْنَ يُنْفِقُوْنَ اَمْوَالَهُمْ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ اَنْۢبَتَتْ سَبْعَ سَنَابِلَ فِيْ كُلِّ سُنْۢبُلَةٍ مِّائَةُ حَبَّةٍ ۗ وَاللّٰهُ يُضٰعِفُ لِمَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ ۗوَاللّٰهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيْمٌ – ٢٦١

“The parable of the person who spends his wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed that grows seven stalks, on each stalk, there are a hundred seeds. Allah multiplies for whom He wills, and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Knowing.” (QS 2: 261)

4. Sadaqah to Relatives

Sadaqah to relatives is the kind of Sadaqah that Muslims believe it suggested by the prophet Muhammad. Since a very long time ago, Muslims believe that the Prophet always reminds them to do a good deed to their relatives with the things that they love the most.

Thus Sadaqah can be one of those deeds as mentions in the Quran surah Ali Imran verse 92.

لَنْ تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتّٰى تُنْفِقُوْا مِمَّا تُحِبُّوْنَ ۗوَمَا تُنْفِقُوْا مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ بِهٖ عَلِيْمٌ – ٩٢

“You will not gain virtue until you spend some of the wealth you love. And whatever you spend, about it indeed, Allah is Knowing.” (QS 3: 92)

5. Sadaqah to the Neighbourhood

Sadaqah to the neighborhood is a kind of Sadaqah that mentions plenty of times in the Quran include one of the ways on how to give Sadaqah in Islam. Even though it is Sunnah, but it is better to do than nothing at all. Sharing what you get such as for foods will make them happy.

Muslims believe that making people happy is a part of a good deed to seek Allah’s blessing. Such as mentions in the Quran surah An Nisa verse 114 below.

لَا خَيْرَ فِيْ كَثِيْرٍ مِّنْ نَّجْوٰىهُمْ اِلَّا مَنْ اَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةٍ اَوْ مَعْرُوْفٍ اَوْ اِصْلَاحٍۢ بَيْنَ النَّاسِۗ وَمَنْ يَّفْعَلْ ذٰلِكَ ابْتِغَاۤءَ مَرْضَاتِ اللّٰهِ فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيْهِ اَجْرًا عَظِيْمًا – ١١٤

“There is no good in their many secret talks, except the secret talk of those who command (people) to give charity, or do good, or make peace between people. Whoever does this seeking the pleasure of Allah, then We will give him a great reward.” (QS 4:114)

6. Sadaqah Jariyah

Sadaqah Jariyah becomes one of the most popular types of Sadaqah which Muslims believe will give you so many benefits. They can do it secretly or clearly, both of them may still get rewards from Allah. Both of this behavior can give you what is Sadaqah Jariyah in Islam in a real life.

It mentions on the Quran surah Al Baqarah verse 262 below.

اَلَّذِيْنَ يُنْفِقُوْنَ اَمْوَالَهُمْ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ ثُمَّ لَا يُتْبِعُوْنَ مَآ اَنْفَقُوْا مَنًّا وَّلَآ اَذًىۙ لَّهُمْ اَجْرُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْۚ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُوْنَ – ٢٦٢

“Those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah, then do not accompany what they spend by mentioning it and hurting (the feelings of the recipient), they will have their reward with their Lord. There is no fear in them and they do not grieve.” (QS 2:262)
