17 Ways on How To Repent In Islam For Major Sins

Indeed the major sin in Islam is grouped into several. Below here are the 17 how to repentance in Islam for major sins and it followed by the example of the major sins that written in the holy book of the Quran.

  1. Compared Allah Almighty with another

The first big sin is to associate with Allah Almighty, mentioned in the Quran that the perpetrators who associate Allah, Allah will remove all his good deeds, and he will not be given forgiveness, he is haram to enter the heaven, and the perpetrators will remain in hell. “Say O, My slave who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
(Verse 39:53)

2. Shows off with the aim of getting praise

Someone who shows off and hopes for others to admit it is also a big sin. This arrogant person can also bring Allah Almighty’s wrath and Allah does not like those people. However, if any offender wants to repent then he must earnestly in worship and he must understand the real purpose of life. Below here Allah Almighty says in the Quran.

“And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (alone).” (Verse 51:56)

3. Desperate for the grace given by Allah SWT

The desperate attitude in Islam is also included in great sin, either desperate for the gift of Allah or for Allah’s forgiveness. Indeed Allah Almighty will always pardon his servants before dying, so it is not permissible for a servant to give up. Please, be patient and submit everything to Allah SWT. Below here Allah says in the Quran.

“Go, O my sons, and ascertain concerning Joseph and his brother, and despair not of the Spirit of Allah. Lo! none despaireth of the Spirit of Allah save disbelieving folk.” (Verse 12: 87)

4. People do not afraid of the threat of Allah SWT

A Muslim with a clean heart will vibrate even when they exposed to a small touch. However, a dirty heart will not be touched by a counsel and threat. A person who is not afraid of Allah’s threat is actually included in the losers. To be free from this major sin, we must always pray to Allah Almighty and servants have must fear of His torment. “Did they then feel secure against the Plan of Allah. None feels secure from the Plan of Allah  except the people who are the losers.”(Verse 7: 99)

5. Be disobedient to both parents

Anyone or child who commits be disobedient to his or her parents, So on the Day of Judgment the gift of them is hell. This major sin has been mentioned both in the Quran and the hadith, for you to be free from this major sins the ways are to apologize for both parents, regret it, and you never repeat it again. Below here Allah says in the Quran.

“And dutiful to my mother, and made me not arrogant, unblest.”(Verse 19:32)

6. Killing people on purpose

An abortion is an act of killing people on purpose. Whoever does it, it will get a reply from Allah Almighty both of world and hereafter. However, does Allah Almighty will forgive all the sins of the murderer? If the perpetrator truly repents sincerely Allah Almighty will surely accept the repentance of his servants. Below here Allah says in the Quran.

“So glorify the Praises of your Lord, and ask for His Forgiveness. Verily, He is the One Who accepts the repentance and forgives.” (Verse 110: 3)

7. Accuses someone who commits adultery

Whoever accuses a woman or a man commits adultery, then he or she has committed a major sin. In the Quran, Allah Almighty will curse them both in the world and in the hereafter. However, if he or she repents sincerely to Allah Almighty, He will always open the door of forgiveness for his servants. Below here Allah says in the Quran.

“The forgiveness is not for those who do ill-deeds until, when death attendeth upon one of them, he saith: Lo! I repent now, nor yet for those who die while they are disbelievers. For such We have prepared a painful doom.”(Verse 4:18)

8. People who like to enjoy usury

[AdSense-A] Usury is the determination of interest on a loan at the time of return. People who enjoy the results of usury is in a major sin. In the Quran has been mentioned, the perpetrators of usury will be cursed by Allah both in the world and in the hereafter.

“Whoever repents before the sun rises from his drowning, then Allah accepts his repentance.” (Muslim)

9. People who run away at the battlefield

In the Quran, Allah Almighty tells that whoever the Muslims are when fighting and is attacked by the enemy but they instead run away, this act is including a major sin. To escape from this major sin is to regret the deed, he must promises not to do that act again, and repent it sincerely to Allah SWT. Below here Allah says in Quran.

“But whosoever repents after his crime and does righteous good deeds (by obeying Allah), then verily, Allah will pardon him (accept his repentance). Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Verse 5: 39)

10. People who eat orphans’ treasures

Those who eat the orphan treasures, Allah Almighty will reward in the hereafter by swallowing a fire entirely in their belly. If the perpetrator wants to repent, they must be stopping of their past action, and promise not to take the rights of orphaned treasures. Below Allah says in the Quran.

“Except those who repent and amend and make manifest (the truth). These it is toward whom I relent. I am the Relenting, the Merciful.”(Verse 2: 160)

11. Acts of adultery

In the Quran, Allah Almighty mentions that anyone who commits adultery will Allah multiply the sins both of in the world and the hereafter. However, if the perpetrator wants to repent is not impossible for God to forgive his servants. Here below Allah says in the Quran.

“Save those who repent and amend and hold fast to Allah and make their religion pure for Allah (only). Those are with the believers. And Allah will bestow on the believers an immense reward.” (Verse 4:146)

12. Leaving the obligatory prayers

Whoseever leaving the obligatory prayers that in deliberately it turns out included in a major sin. For people who want release from this major sin, the Muslims must improve in performing the obligatory prayers and ask forgiveness of Allah Almighty. Below here Allah Almighty says in the Quran. “They question thee (O Muhammad) concerning menstruation. Say: It is an illness, so let women alone at such times and go not in unto them till they are cleansed. And when they have purified themselves, then go in unto them as Allah hath enjoined upon you. Truly Allah loveth those who turn unto Him, and loveth those who have a care for cleanness.”(Verse 2: 222)

13. Disconnected the relationship between brothers

Islam always teaches us to tighten the bonds of relationship between brotherhood to make life feel comfortable, it close to the grace of Allah Almighty and get good deeds.

If a person breaks this relationship, they will not go to heaven. Whosoever wants to away from this major sin, it should immediately reconnect the ropes of relationship by forgiving each other. Below Allah says in the Quran.

“But those who committed evil deeds and then repented afterward and believed, verily, your Lord after (all) that is indeed Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”(Verse 7:153) [AdSense-C]

14. Give a fake oath

Whoever gives a fake oath, then he will be cursed by Allah both in the world and in the hereafter. Giving a fake oath is the heinous act that Muslims should avoid. Whosoever wants to away from this sin, you must tell the truth, regret the past actions, repent sincerely to Allah Almighty and promise not to do it again. Below here Allah says in the Quran.

“Then after that Allah will accept the repentance of whom He will. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Verse 9:27)

15. Drinking Alcohol

Alcohol drink is a forbidden drink prohibited in Islam, whoever does this then his deeds are the same as Satan. Whosoever wants to away from this sin, you should stop drinking alcohol, leave a bad neighborhood, and repent sincerely to Allah. Below here Allah says in Quran.

“And (commanding you): Ask pardon of your Lord and turn to Him repentant. He will cause you to enjoy a fair estate until a time appointed. He giveth His bounty unto every bountiful one. But if ye turn away, lo! (then) I fear for you the retribution of an awful Day.”(Verse 11: 3)

16. Doing gambling

Actually, gambling is the same as drinking Alcohol. This act is the act of Satan which in Islam is strictly forbidden to do so. Whosoever wants to away from this sin, you should leave this immoral habit and immediately repent to Allah Almighty while Allah still gives the opportunity for you. “Then, verily! Your Lord for those who do evil (commit sins are disobedient to Allah) in ignorance and afterward repent and do righteous deeds, verily, your Lord thereafter, (to such) is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”(Verse 16: 119)

17. Like to look for other people’s mistakes by gossiping

Islam teaches that we are always good prejudiced towards others. Whoever does like to look for other people’s ugliness by gossiping behind them. It is indeed a major sin. Whosoever to wants away from this sin, you should talk the truth whatever is, support one another, and be brothers and sisters. Below here Allah SWT says in the Quran.

“The Forgiver of sin, the Acceptor of repentance, the Severe in punishment, the Bestower (of favors). None has the right to be worshipped but He, to Him is the find return.” (Verse 40: 3)

Hopefully, 17 how to repent in Islam for the major sins can teach Muslims that the real sin of man as big as mountains and width of the oceans Allah will always forgive the mistakes of his servants on condition that he would repent to Allah sincerely and promise that you will not repeat it again.
