The sin of leaving the dawn prayer has been described in the Qur’an and the Hadith. Prayer is better than sleep, it is our focal point as Muslims, that Shubuh prayer is one of obligation for every Muslim.

“So exalted is Allah when you reach the evening and when you reach the morning”(QS. Ar-Room: 17)
“Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its meridian] until the darkness of the night and [also] the Qur’an of dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed”(Qs. Al-Israa: 78)
In addition to the Shubuh prayer, the command of other prayers is already very clear in the Qur’an, the explanation as follows :
“Your God knowed that you stand (prayer) less than two-thirds of the night, or the second of the night, or a third, and (so) a group of those with you. And God sets the measure of night and day. God knows that you can not determine the boundaries of those times, then He gives you the light, so read what is easy (for you) from the Qur’an”
“Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muhammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you [Muslims] will not able to do it and has turned to you in forgiveness, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur’an.
He has known that there will be among you those who are ill and others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allah and others fighting for the cause of Allah. So recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakah and loan Allah a goodly loan. And whatever good you put forward for yourselves – you will find it with Allah.
It is better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful” (QS.al Muzzammil : 20)

If you perform the Shubuh prayer, there are so many virtues that you can later get. Are you not afraid as a Muslim if called as a hypocrite for having neglected to worship at dawn prayer? The average Muslim community generally neglects the dawn prayer caused by the routine activity of sleep. This has been explained and reinforced with the words of the Prophet, the explanation as follows :
“Surely the most severe prayer performed by the hypocrites is the isya prayer and the dawn prayers. If they knew the virtue of both, they would come to Him even by crawling. “(Narrated by Bukhari 657 and Muslim No. 651)
“There is no more severe prayers perceived by the hypocrites than the Shubuh prayers and the Isha prayers.” If they knew what was in it, surely they would come to Him even if they had to crawl. And really, I was thinking of telling the muadzin to sing iqamat.
Then I told someone to take a man, while I took the fire and I burned (the house) people who did not come out (doing) the shubuh prayer. (Al-Lu’lu wal Marjan No. 383)
Then there is also from the hadith of Sahih Al-Bukhari which says that:
“Something even harder, once the Prophet Shalallahu ‘Alaihi wa Sallam had a dream, and the dream of the Prophets was real.
He said, “Last night I dreamed to be visited by two figures sent to me. Both said, ‘Let’s go!’ Then I went with both of them. We went to someone who was lying down. Suddenly someone else stood over him lifting a large rock.”

“He dropped the stone on the head of the sleeper. The head of the person becomes broke, while the stone rolled away. The man followed the rock that rolled and took it. Before the person returns to where the person lies down, his head has returned to normal.
The man returned and did what he had done before. “When the Prophet Shalallahu ‘Alaihi wa Sallam asked what he saw, the two figures replied,” We will tell you. The first person who when you meet his head is broked by a rock is the one who takes the Qur’an and refuses it and sleeps not doing the obligatory prayer. “(Saheeh al-Bukhari, hadith No. 7047)
From a long enough explanation abov, it can be drawn the conclusion that the severe punishment will be experienced by the Muslims who are lazy to get up from sleep to carry out his duties as a Muslim ie Shubuh prayer.
Imam Al-Bukhari and Imam Muslim narrated that Abdullah ibn Mas’ud radhiyallahu ‘anhu said;
“It is mentioned before the Prophet Shalallahu ‘Alaihi wa Salla that one who sleeps all night until morning arrives. He said, “That is the man whose two ears are urinated by the devil.” (Saheeh al-Bukhari hadith no 1144 and Muslim hadith No. 774)
“Satan makes three knots at the nape of one of you while he sleeps. In each of them he breathed, ‘Your night is still long, go to sleep!’ If he wakes up and dhikr to Allah, then loose another knot. And if he performs wudu, then loose another knot.
And if he prays loose the knots of it all. (if it was so) in the morning he would be excited and his soul clean. Otherwise, his soul is dirty and lazy. “(Al-Bukhari hadith no, 3269)
If there are so many virtues that are promised by Allah Almighty for his servant who did not neglect the Shubuh prayer worship, why should you neglect the shubuh prayer?

It will be witnessed by the angels. This is explained from the words of the Prophet Saw, the explanation as follows:
“And the angels of the night and the angels of the day gather at the morning prayer (shubuh).” (Narrated by Bukhari 137 and Muslim no.632)
2. By running the shubuh prayer
It will be calculated like full evening worship prayer. Allah promises his servants that for those who worship at dawn, their worship will be calculated as the full night prayer. This is explained from the words of the Prophet Saw, the explanation as follows :
“Whoever prays isya` in congregation, it is like as if he had prayed night for half the night. And whoever prays shubuh in congregation then as if he has prayed all night. “(HR Muslim No. 656)

We will be under Allah’s guarantees. How do you still want to neglect the morning prayer, if Allah alone gives the surplus of assurance from Him for his servant performing the Shubuh prayer? This is explained from the words of the Prophet Saw, the explanation as follows :
“Whoever does Shubuh prayer then he is in Allah’s assurance. Therefore do not let Allah demand anything from you of His guarantees. For whom God has demanded with something of His guarantees, Allah will certainly find it, and will lay it down upon his face in a hell of hell. “(Narrated by Muslim No. 163)

“Whoever does the bardain prayer (ie shubuh prayer and ashar) then he will go to heaven.” (Narrated by Bukhari 574 and Muslim No. 635)
