Horoscopes or astrology are popular in young generations. They love them, believing them, and follow them. They listening, read, and follow what the fortuneteller said to determine their fate.
They are so in love with zodiacs, tarot, reading tree lives, palm reading, and others so. Islam taught us to not believe them and forbid this behavior instead of getting tips to getting closer to the Quran. In the Quran surah, Al Maidah verse 90 mentions this.
“O, believers! Indeed alcoholism, gambling, (sacrificing for) idols, and drawing fate with arrows, are abominable and include the actions of the devil. So stay away (actions) that you are lucky.”
The verse clearly says that any type of gambling, offering sacrifice, and finding out a fortune is haram (forbidden). People who claim that they know about someone’s future is because they follow what satan said to them.
That is why we should avoid this kind of action and get some tips to overcome the fear of ghosts in Islam.
Here we have 5 reasons why we should not beliving in astrology or horoscope based in the Quran.
Anything that prohibited by Allah is haram and we are not supposed to follow them. Fortune telling is prohibited because is a kind of polytheism form. Allah cursed them as the side effects of black magic in Islam.
Besides, whose that believe in fortune-telling is out of knowledge. It mentions in the Quran that only Allah knows everything even the real or the unseen.
In the Quran surah Luqman verse 34 mentions about this.
“Surely only in the sight of Allah is knowledge of the Day of Judgment, and He who sends down rain, and knows what is in the womb. And no one can know (for certain) what he will do tomorrow. And no one can know on what earth he will die. Truly, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Knowing.”
Those who read, listen, watch what fortune teller said is represent a form of shirk. Any kind of shirk is a form of disputing Allah and the prophet. Any kind of behavior against Allah’s verse from the Quran is haram.
This means they don’t believe in Allah verses on the Quran. In the Quran surah, Al Gafir verse 56 mentions about this.
“Indeed, those who debate the verses of Allah without a reason (proof) that reaches them, all they have in their bosom is (a desire for) greatness that they will not achieve, so seek protection from Allah. Truly, He is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.”
Whoever believes to fortune-teller is a misguided person that avoids the Quranic verses. They are far away from Allah’s guidance but very close to the devil’s guidance.
This means they don’t consider Allah as the true guidance but the devil. Allah does not love them who guidance over by the devil. And it is important to avoid negative dreams in Islam to becomes closer to Allah.
In the Quran surah Asy Syua’ra verses 222-226 mention this.
“They (demons) come down to every liar who is a lot of sinners, they convey the results of their hearing, while most of them are liars. And the poets were followed by people who went astray. Do you not see that they wander in every valley and that they say what they themselves are not doing?”
Whoever claims as the fortune teller or someone that has a vision of the unseen and the future becomes an overbearing person. They become arrogant towards Allah’s verses on the Quran.
And people who believe them also become an overbearing person that act like don’t need Allah’s gratitude.
In the Quran surah Sad verses 75-78 mention this.
“(Allah) said, “O devil, what is preventing you from bowing down to what I have created with my power. Are you boasting or do you (feel) belong to the (higher) class? ” (Satan) said, “I am better than he, because you created me from fire, whereas he, you created from earth.” (Allah) said, “Then you come out of heaven! Truly you are a damned creature. And truly, my curse remains upon you until the day of vengeance. “
Any kind of astrology, horoscope, palmistry, or so are prohibited in Islam because they come from the devil’s whisper. Devils is kind of Allah’s creature that disobey Allah guidance.
As people following for them so that their faith towards Allah is fading away. Besides, by believing them are things that spoil prayer in Islam.
In the Quran surah, Al Kahf verse 50 mentions about this.
“And (remember) when We said to the angels, “Bow to Adam!” So they bow down except Satan. He is of (a group) of the jinn, so he disobeys the commands of his Lord. No wonder you make him and his descendants as leaders besides me, even though they are your enemies? It is very bad (the Devil) as a substitute (Allah) for the wrongdoers.”
So, there are 5 reasons why we should not believe in horoscope or astrology or even fortune-telling. We should only put our trust in Allah, the Quran, and His prophet.
