The child is the most precious treasure for the parent, and the child is a gift and deposit from Allah SWT who to be constantly guarded, cared for, and raised with an abundance of affection.
However, not infrequently we encounter children who are treated rudely by their parents and even be abandoned.
As good Muslims who have become parents, we must not neglect children given by Allah SWT. When a married couple is blessed with a child, then that means Allah SWT have trusted them to be parents and are expected to be good parent for their children by caring for their children, taking care of and protecting their children, and educating their children according to Islam.
Giving children love is a duty to every parent, and treating children well should be done by every parent. Because with good treatments, the child will feel that he or she are loved and cared for. Treating a child well does not mean you should not scold him at all, it should be done but not exceeded.

Unconsciously sometimes the good things that are looked ordinary that parents do to the children can make the children feel very dear to by his parents. For example, parents always use good and gentle words to their children, parents always remind their children to eat and others, and parents kiss their children while sleeping.

Parents Kiss Kids When Sleeping According to Islam
Every parent has their own way of expressing their love for the child. Some of them express it in such a way as to remind the child not to forget prayers, meals and others, to drive children away to school or anywhere, or even to kiss the child while sleeping.
Then does the law kiss the child while sleeping according to Islam? (Read Importance of Female Child Education)
Islam as a good and perfect religion always teaches its people to do affection things to anyone, including to their children. And kissing a child when a child is asleep is an expression of parental affection for their child, and it is allowed in Islam.
Rasulullah SAW himself also expressed his affection by kissing his children. Narrated from Abu Hurairah ra, he said:

Rasulullah SAW kissed Al-Hasan bin Ali, and beside Rasulullah SAW there is Al-Aqro ‘bin Haabis At-Tamimiy sitting. Then Al-Aqro ‘said:
“I have ten children, but none of them I have ever kissed.”
Then Rasulullah SAW looks at AL-Aqro ‘and say:
“Whoever is not merciful will not be blessed.” (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
And from Aisyah ra. also told:
Then came a bedouin arab to Rasulullah SAW then said,
“Did you kiss the boys? We did not kiss them.”
Then Rasulullah SAW said,
“I can not do anything if Allah removes all mercy and affection from your heart.” (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
From some of the above hadith, it can be concluded that kissing the child while they are sleeping as a form of parental affection to their son or daughter.
Parent also may not differ the treat to their children from one to another in terms of kissing children while sleeping, because the law discriminating children in Islam is clearly forbidden.
However, in giving a kiss to the child when sleeping we also have to see the age of the child, if his age is more than six years then it should not be done, because the child has started growing up and we fear the child will feel uncomfortable.

As good parents we are required to educate children by the way of educating children in Islam, and giving them an abundance of love, as did by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. He always loves every child, both young or who have grown up.
And narrated in Islam, one day Rasulullah SAW was doing prostration when he led his companions, and then Al-Hasan bin Ali ibn Abi Talib came, and has attitude of a small child, Al-Hasan also climbed the shoulders of the Prophet Muhammad who was in prostration, and the Prophet also prolong his prostration. It makes the Companions amazed and they say:
“O Messenger of Allah, you have prolonged your prostration, we think something has happened or the revelation has been revealed to you.“
Then Rasulullah SAW. replied,
“No. But my grandson makes me like his mount, so I do not like to hasten him until he fulfills his will. “(Narrated by Ahmad and An-Nasa’i)

And narrated also in Islam, one day Rasulullah SAW. was preaching, then came Al-Hasan and Al-Husain who are still small, they come with a long dress so long as to make them stumble when walking so they fall down and get up.
Then Rasulullah SAW. get down from the pulpit and go back upstage by holding both, then he says: “All righteous Allah .
” Only your treasure and your children are slander, “I see these two little boys running and falling, so I can not wait until I decided my khutbah and I carried them both “(HR At-Tirmidhi)
And narrated also in Islam, one day Rasulullah SAW. was preaching, then came Al-Hasan and Al-Husain who are still small, they come with a long dress so long as to make them stumble when walking so they fall down and get up.

From some of the above hadith we can know that Rasulullah SAW. is so fond of the children that he did not want to hasten Al-Hasan who made him his mount to get down, and cut off his khutbah to help Al-Hasan and Al-Husain who stumbled to the point of falling awake.
From these stories, we can apply the story of Prophet Muhammad SAW in our lives, because by following his example has certainly not violate the existing rules on the source of Islamic law and the basis of Islamic law. (Read Ethical Values of Islam)
