The birthday celebration is not taught by our Prophet Muhammad. The birthday celebration even the birthday party is a thing that taught by other religion.

- The birthday party is not taught by our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
As we said at the beginning, The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) never taught us about a celebrated birthday party or make a birthday party.
A birthday party indeed, it is an activity that did by Western people or non-Muslim. This activity was wrong if it did by us, Muslims people. If we did the same thing as the Western people or none Muslime people. We seem to be part of them. Below here there is a hadith that explain this.
“The person who imitates a people, he seems to be part of the people” (Abu Dawud)
2. Birthday celebration waste your money
Celebrating birthdays in order to be out of worship; such as showcasing wealth, as a purifier of sin and the other is forbidden. Birthday celebrations certainly do not cost much and this is a waste. For that, the Messenger of Allah does not allow us to celebrate a birthday. Below here is the hadith.
“The person who performs the ritual of charity that does not come from us, then his charity is rejected.” (Bukhari Muslim)
3. The new worship ritual
The person who makes the rituals of new worship is actually dismissed his practice, he gets sin, and he is blamed by Allah Almighty. The religious ritual taught by Islam does prayer (five times a day), dua, dhikr, and istighfar. In addition, it is not a ritual of worship of Muslims. Below here is the hadith.
“I will precede you in al haudh (the lake). It appears in front of me some of you. When I will take (drink) for them from al haudh, they are kept away from me. I said, ‘My Lord, this is my people.’ Then Allah said, ‘You do not know the innovations they make after you.’ “(Bukhari)
4. The Muslim should not do this thing
The true celebration of Muslims is Ied Fitri, Ied Adha, and every Friday. Besides this, there is not the true celebration of Moslems. If you did the other celebration (non-Muslim’s celebration) your status is out of Islam. Celebrating birthdays, for example, it will reduce the rate of Islam to yourself. 5. The celebration that hates by Allah Almighty
Indeed, Allah Almighty hates every habit and tradition of celebration carried out by non-Muslims. For this reason, believing Muslims should not do it. Only Allah Almighty has the right to be worshiped. The following below in the Qur’an is stated. [AdSense-B]
6. It is not allowed to say; Happy Birthday
There is a law for say ” Happy birthday” in Islam. It is not allowed or forbidden to us to say Happy Birthday and comes to his or her birthday party. The reasons were said at the previous point. That this celebration is done by non-Muslims. However, in Islam, it is allowed us to say congratulations and give the best duas for her or him. Below here there is a hadith.
“Really, you will follow the habits of the people before you, inch by inch and one by one, until the people you follow enter the dhob’s hole (even the narrow ones, pen), surely you will follow it.” We (the friend) said, “O Messenger of Allah, are those who followed were Jews and Christians?” He replied, “Then who else?”

7. The birthday’s dua by Moslem
Well, if your friends or even your parent is a birthday. In Islam, there is a way you can do while the birthday comes. It is not to make a birthday celebration. Just do a dua for them, this dua will set our faith to Allah Almighty. Below here is dua that you must do.
“O Lord, prolong our age, heal our bodies, illuminate our hearts, establish our faith, make our deeds good, extend our food, put us close to goodness and keep us from evil, grant our needs in religion, the world and beyond” Indeed, You are Almighty all over things. ”
8. Reflect on our mistakes
[AdSense-A] Celebrate birthday party is just waste your money. In Islam, our Prophet Muhammad taught us that while our birthday comes, it is better to reflect on our mistakes along this year. Surely humans always suffer losses in time and age. Below here is one verse of Quran that you should know.
“By time. Indeed, mankind is in a loss. Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.” Verse (103:1-3)
9. Ask for duas from family and friends
While you on your birthday, please ask for them to make dua for you. Asks your parents, your sister, brother, and even your friends.

“They said, “O our father, ask for our forgiveness of our sins; indeed, we have been sinners.'” Verse (12:97)
10. Do a charity
At the previous time, you already know about the virtues of charity in Islam and the benefits of charity in Islam. We know that charity in Islam has many of benefit, one of them does charity while we got the birthday.
So, spend your little money (as you can) then give it to people that are needed or you can do charity in a mosque. That will be useful for all people. Below here Allah says in the Quran.
“And spend in the way of Allah and do not throw (yourselves) with your (own) hands into destruction (by refraining). And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good.” Verse (2:195)
11. Do zikr
Benefits of being silent in Islam, one of the way do zikr. Why we as Muslim should do zikr when we got a birthday? With us doing dhikr, it will make our hearts and spirits stronger, make our soul closer to Allah, keeps away from bad emotion, example; angry, and it can heal our heart. Doing dhikr is truly has a great remarkable for our lives.
Below here Allah says in the Quran.
“And when you have completed the prayer, remember Allah standing, sitting, or (lying) on your sides. But when you become secure, re-establish (regular) prayer. Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times.” Verse (4:103)
12. Remember the death
The birthday celebration in Islam is actually to remember death. Every year we have a birthday, our age will increase and this means that our strength can also be weak, we become old. For this reason, it is a must for Muslims to always remember death. Indeed, the humans will basically return to their Lord. Below here Allah says in the Quran.
“O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims (in submission to Him).” Verse (3:102)
13. Ask Allah Almighty for forgiveness
There are no bodies that have a pure heart, the human always does a mistake in their life. So, it is a must for Muslims to do ask Allah Almighty for forgiveness while in birthday. Hopefully, with us asking forgiveness of Allah, all our sins can be forgiven and we can be closer to Allah Almighty. Below here is one verse from the Quran.
Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves (by sinning), do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” Verse (39:53)

14. Thanks to Allah Almighty
It is one of positive thing that we can do besides asking Allah for forgiveness. Please, to thanks to Allah Almighty that He always gives us all the things that we are needed every day; such as lives, breath, air, water, even sustenance. Below here Allah says in the Quran.
“And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.'” Verse (14:7)
15. Do not make any birthday celebration
There is forbidden to us, Muslims to make a birthday celebration or the party as well. So, for Muslims do not make any birthday celebration or party.
Making a party is very wasteful of money, it would be better for the money to be given to poor families or poor brothers or sisters. This will be far more useful. Below here Allah says in the Quran.
“And give the relative his right, and [also] the poor and the traveler, and do not spend wastefully.”
Verse (17:26)
