1. Az Zawaj Al Wajib
Az Zawaj Al Wajib is one of the types of marriage in Islam that can be held for men and women to pursue their desire because they are afraid of making sin towards their sex desires. If they are not ready yet, it is better to hold up and be patient so that they will get some of the benefits of patience in Islam.
Az Zawaj Al Wajib commonly becomes a mandatory marriage in some Islamic cultures. Most of them understand marriage as an important thing to do before the couples make another sin towards their nature sex desires. The facts are different from some reasons why zakat is important even marriage is also important for Muslims.
As it is mentioned in the Quran surah Al Isra verse 32 below.
وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا الزِّنٰىٓ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ فَاحِشَةً ۗوَسَاۤءَ سَبِيْلًا ٣٢
“ Do not approach adultery. Verily (Zina) is a heinous act and the worst way.” (QS 17:32)
2. Az Zawaj AL Mustahab
Az Zawaj Al Mustahab is one of the types of marriage in Islam that is permissibly held for Muslims who are ready to get married from their body and soul. They already know that they are healthy for their sexual desires and even for the economic resource for their life after the wedding held.
Az Zawaj Al Mustahab has a permissible context because sometimes Muslims are not too care about marriage thing, such as the women getting some tips on being good wives in Islam from their parents. That is why this type of marriage in Islam is permissible because Islamic rule forbids a life without marriage.
It is already mentioned in the Quran surah Al Maidah verse 87 below.
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تُحَرِّمُوْا طَيِّبٰتِ مَآ اَحَلَّ اللّٰهُ لَكُمْ وَلَا تَعْتَدُوْا ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِيْنَ ٨٧
“O you who believe, do not forbid anything good which Allah has made lawful for you and do not transgress. Verily, Allah does not like those who transgress.” (QS 5:87)
3. Az Zawaj Al Makruh
Az Zawaj Al Makruh is one of the types of marriage in Islam that consider a permissible marriage that is not too good from the Islamic rules perspective. For example, the man that is ready to get married economically but doesn’t have sexual desires towards the woman he will be marrying.
The marriage of that condition becomes permissible but can be hurtful for some reason for the wife because her spouse doesn’t seem to be aware of the roles of a husband in Islam. That is why this type of marriage in Islam commonly should be avoided so that both wife and husband can live happily.
Moreover, it is already mentioned in the Quran surah An Nahl verse 72 below.
وَاللّٰهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنْ اَنْفُسِكُمْ اَزْوَاجًا وَّجَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنْ اَزْوَاجِكُمْ بَنِيْنَ وَحَفَدَةً وَّرَزَقَكُمْ مِّنَ الطَّيِّبٰتِۗ اَفَبِالْبَاطِلِ يُؤْمِنُوْنَ وَبِنِعْمَتِ اللّٰهِ هُمْ يَكْفُرُوْنَۙ ٧٢
“Allah made for you a spouse (husband or wife) of your own kind, made for you children and grandchildren from your spouse, and bestowed upon you good sustenance. Why do they believe in vanity, while against the favor of Allah they disobey?” (QS 16:72)
4. Az Zawaj Al Mubah
Az Zawah Al Mubah is one of the types of marriage in Islam that is not too good to hold. The marriage can be held but in Islamic rules, the marriage will bring some wasted effort from them.
Commonly, the Az Zawah Al Mubah is s typical marriage that is held based on the happy feeling for the couple without considering the Islamic rule. That is why this marriage brings not too good value under Islamic rule.
Indeed, most Muslims believe that marriage should reconsider Islamic rule as the basic rule for Muslims to always remember Allah in everything. It is already mentioned in the Quran surah Az Zariyat verse 49 below.
وَمِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُوْنَ ٤٩
“ Everything We created in pairs so that you may remember (the greatness of Allah).” (QS 51:49)
5. Unlawful Marriage
Unlawful marriage is one of the types of marriage in Islam that is forced by Allah and the Islamic rules. Marriage couldn’t be held for any reason because it is forbidden by Islamic rule.
An unlawful marriage comes with some conditions such as marrying someone that already married to your father, marrying your siblings, marrying someone else’s spouse, marrying a polytheistic, and many more. The law of unlawful marriage is already mentioned in the Quran surah An Nisa verse 22 below.
وَلَا تَنْكِحُوْا مَا نَكَحَ اٰبَاۤؤُكُمْ مِّنَ النِّسَاۤءِ اِلَّا مَا قَدْ سَلَفَ ۗ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ فَاحِشَةً وَّمَقْتًاۗ وَسَاۤءَ سَبِيْلًا ࣖ ٢٢
“Do not marry women whom your father married, except (events in the past). Verily (acts) are very abominable and hated (by Allah) and the worst way (to be taken).” (QS 4:22)
