Marriage is one of the most important event in someone’s life. Especially in Islam, marriage even considered as half of the religion. Getting married not only involving two person who are going to be husband and wife, but also uniting the two families as well.
However, people could have through an unfortunate events in their life that cause them to be an orphan. As we all know, orphans hold a special status in Islam alongside widow. They should have be taken care of of the society and whoever do it, Allah SWT will grant him with a huge reward.
Thus, there are many benefits of marrying an orphan in Islam. The responsibility of someone who marries an orphan is not light, but the rewards he will get also doubled. As orphan has no parents to protect or guide them, then the one who get them married should do the task.
1. Following the Command of Allah SWT
Allah has commanded all Muslims to take care of the orphans. They have to be feed and to be taken care under the name of Allah SWT. Whoever marries an orphan is following Allah’s command. Also read: Importance of Faith in Islam
“And they feed, for the love of Allah, the poor, the orphan, and the captive…” [76:8]
2. Fighting in the Way of Allah SWT
Fighting in the way of Allah is guaranteed Jannah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said,
“One who cares for widows and the poor is like those who fight in the way of Allah or those who spend their days fasting and their nights praying.” (Bukhari)
3. Doing a Very Good Deed

Reported by Abu Hurayra (RA), the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“One who cares for widows and the poor is like those who fight in the way of Allah or those who spend their days fasting and their nights praying.”
4. Protected from the Hellfire

Aisha (RA) said,
“A woman came to me who had two of her daughters with her. She asked me for something, but I could not find anything except for a single date which I gave her. She divided it between her daughters and then got up and left. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came in and I told him what had happened. He said, ‘Whoever looks after these girls in any way and is good to them will have them as a veil from the Fire.'”

5. Stick Close to the Prophet
The spouse of an orphan will stick close to the Prophet (peace be upon him) like to fingers as he said himself,
“I and the guardian of an orphan will be in the Garden like these two (sticking his two fingers).”
6. Softened the Heart of a Person
Once a man came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and ask why he feels hardness in his heart. To which he replied,
“Would you like that your heart becomes soft and that you acquire what you need? Be merciful with the orphan, pat his head and feed him from what you eat. This will soften your heart, and enable you to get what you need.” (Tabarani)
7. The Griefs Will be Removed
Allah SWT will definitely removing the grief of someone who marries an orphan as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said,
“Whoever removes a worldly grief from a believer, Allah will remove from him one of the griefs of the Day of Judgment” (Muslim)

8. Gaining Forgiveness from Allah SWT

“Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality, while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.” [2:268]
9. Angels Will Prayed for the Person
Even the Angels would pray for anyone who takes care of the orphan. The Prophet (peace be upon him said),
“No day dawns upon [Allah’s] servants without two angels descending [to Earth]. One of them says, ‘O Allah, give recompense (khalaf) to those who give [charity]!’; the other says, ‘O Allah give loss (talaf) to those who withhold [charity]!'”
10. Entering Jannah Together with the Prophet
Marrying an orphan not only guaranteed of oneself to enter Jannah, but he will walk to it side by side with the Prophet. He (peace be upon him) said,
“I and the caretaker of the orphan will enter Paradise together like this, raising (by way of illustration) his forefinger and middle finger jointly, leaving no space in between.” (Bukhari)
12. Fulfilling the Rights of an Orphan
Orphan has many rights to be fulfilled, such as being taken care of and to be fed with sufficient foods. All of those can be done at once when someone gets married with the orphan. Also read: Rights of Orphans in Islam
