Have you ever wondered about some of the good deeds women can do on her period? Muslim believe that women avoid doing prayers and other holy activities during their period.
Even so, that couldn’t mean they can’t do anything good on her period. They still can do everything well during her period. It can be one of the ways how to collect good deeds during Ramadhan even though they are in their period.
Speaking of it, here we have some of the lists of good deeds women can do during their period based on the Quran. Let’s see some of them below!
1. Listening to the Quran Recitation
Listening to the Quran recitation is one of the good deeds women can do during their period. During this time, women are allowed to listen to the Quran recitation without holding the Quran directly.
During the period time doing fasting it having a prayer can be one of the things that invalidate fasting. That is why it is better to avoid these deeds but do other things such as listening to the Quran recitation.
Muslim believe by listening to the Quran recitation is capable of calming their soul and reducing anxiety. It can be a great way to face their anxiety without reducing their good deeds towards Allah’s blessing.
It is mentioned in the Quran surah Az Zumar verse 18 below.
الَّذِيْنَ يَسْتَمِعُوْنَ الْقَوْلَ فَيَتَّبِعُوْنَ اَحْسَنَهٗ ۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ هَدٰىهُمُ اللّٰهُ وَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمْ اُولُوا الْاَلْبَابِ ١٨
“(That is) those who listen to the words and then follow what is best of them. They are the ones who have been guided by Allah and they are the UIlulalbab (those who have common sense).” (QS 39:18)
2. Read the Meaning of the Quran
Reading the meaning of the Quran is one of the good deeds women can do during their period. Reading the meaning of the Quran will make them more knowledgeable. Moreover, it is capable to increase their faith in Allah such as when they get some of the benefits of Sadaqah in Ramadhan.
Read the meaning of the Quran is allowed to do for women during their period. It can be counted as one of the good deeds women can do during their period. Such as mentioned in the Quran surah An Nisa verse 82 below.
اَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُوْنَ الْقُرْاٰنَ ۗ وَلَوْ كَانَ مِنْ عِنْدِ غَيْرِ اللّٰهِ لَوَجَدُوْا فِيْهِ اخْتِلَافًا كَثِيْرًا ٨٢
“Don’t they sprinkle the Qur’an? If it (the Qur’an) had not come from Allah, they would have found many contradictions in it.” (QS 4:82)
3. Make Dua
Make dua is one of the good deeds women can do on her period. It is permissible to do which can lead them into making some good wishes on their Dua. Muslim believe by making a Dua is capable to make their dream come true.
Most Muslims believe that making Dua is one of the ways they can get closer to Allah. They can make a Dua for their repentance or other Duas as well. All of them refer to the good deeds that can be done for Muslims.
Such as mentioned in the Quran surah Al Baqarah verse 186 below.
وَاِذَا سَاَلَكَ عِبَادِيْ عَنِّيْ فَاِنِّيْ قَرِيْبٌ ۗ اُجِيْبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ اِذَا دَعَانِۙ فَلْيَسْتَجِيْبُوْا لِيْ وَلْيُؤْمِنُوْا بِيْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُوْنَ ١٨٦
“When My servants ask you (Prophet Muhammad) about Me, verily I am near. I grant the supplication of the one who prays when he prays to Me. So, let them fulfill My (command) and believe in Me so that they will always be in the truth.” (QS 2:186)
4. Helping Parents
Helping parents is one of the good deeds women can do during their period. They can do so many things such as start serving them a meal, preparing a bed, doing the core at the house, and other similar things.
Muslim believe by helping parents they will get so many rewards from Allah. It can be small deeds with big rewards in Islam that they can do to seek some of Allah’s blessing.
Such as mentioned in the Quran surah Al Isra verse 23 below.
وَقَضٰى رَبُّكَ اَلَّا تَعْبُدُوْٓا اِلَّآ اِيَّاهُ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ اِحْسٰنًاۗ اِمَّا يَبْلُغَنَّ عِنْدَكَ الْكِبَرَ اَحَدُهُمَآ اَوْ كِلٰهُمَا فَلَا تَقُلْ لَّهُمَآ اُفٍّ وَّلَا تَنْهَرْهُمَا وَقُلْ لَّهُمَا قَوْلًا كَرِيْمًا ٢٣
“Your Lord has commanded that you should not worship other than Him and should do good to your parents. If one of the two or both of them reaches old age in your care, then never say to them the word “ah” and do not shout at them both, and say to both of them good words.” (QS 17:23)
5. Doing Charity
Doing charity is one of the good deeds women can do during their period. During this time, women are allowed to do charity whenever they want. Indeed doing charity can be done without waiting when them to get their period.
Allah is knowing everything so it is better to do charity during the period time for women rather than doing nothing. It can be one of the good deeds they can do that may count precisely to seek Allah’s blessing.
You can even do charity such as feeding some starving cats to get some of the benefits of feeding cats in Islam. It may count as a charity for others as well.
Such as mentioned in the Quran surah AL Munafiqun verse 10 below.
وَاَنْفِقُوْا مِنْ مَّا رَزَقْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يَّأْتِيَ اَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ فَيَقُوْلَ رَبِّ لَوْلَآ اَخَّرْتَنِيْٓ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ قَرِيْبٍۚ فَاَصَّدَّقَ وَاَكُنْ مِّنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ ١٠
“Spend some of what We have bestowed upon you before death comes to any of you. He then said (while regretting), “O my Lord, if You would delay my (death) a little longer, I would be able to give alms and I would be among the pious.” (QS 63:10)
