1. Appearing a Matrealistic’s Character

The mundane character embodied in the concept of hedonism will surely lead to the morphing of matrealistic nature for each individual who embraces it. matrealistic is a character that views things by material or property or wealth. This character is very hated by Allah SWT and The Massenger. As in the following word of Allah:

“Whoever desires the life of this world and its adornment – We fully repay them for their deeds therein, and they therein will not be deprived. Those are the ones for whom there is not in the Hereafter but the Fire. And lost is what they did therein, and worthless is what they used to do.” (QS. Hud : 15-16)

2. More Empasize of Temporal Affairs

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala implies the majority state of mankind in His following word :

“They know what is apparent of the worldly life, but they, of the Hereafter, are unaware.” (QS. Rum : 7)

Allah SWT has predicted that in a future there will come a time when people are more concerned with a temporal attitudes and affair. It may be this modern and millennial era as nowadays is part of this period. [AdSense-B]

Where the concept of hedonism brought by the majority of non-Muslim already affected the Moslem. 3. Luxury Lifestyle

Adherents of hedonism always show an impression of glamor and luxury. This is none other than because they do not want the treasure they have earned can not be seen and displayed to others. Though the main teachings of Rasullullah is to behave modestly. As the Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said, which means:

“Stay away from a luxury lifestyle. Indeed, the servants of Allah are not those who are lavish “

4. Tend to Be an Arrogant Character

Adherents of hedonism will have an arrogant character, feeling they are the most treasured and honorable. He does not believe that what he desires to have is the source given by Allah SWT. He assumes that the possessions he owns are his own hard work. As the story of Qarun in the time of Prophet Musa AS, therefore, the Qur’an calls it:

“Indeed, Qarun from the people of Musa, but he tyrannized them. And We gave him of treasures whose keys would burden a band of strong men. (QS. Al-Qashash : 76)

[AdSense-A]

5. Tend to Be a Chocky and Smug Character

Besides being an arrogant, the definite characters will also appear that is chocky and smug. Both of these attributes are hated by Allah Almighty, as the Word of God,

“There upon his people said to him, “Do not exult. Indeed, Allah does not like the exultant.” (QS. Al-Qashash : 76)

6. Want to Be Respected Always

The concept of hedonimsme that pervades an individual also make him feel always wanted to be respected.

For him a honor or respect comes from a number of owned possessions. The more treasures the more honorable it will be. It’s culture that is beginning to emerge today, where those with abundant positions and wealth will be respected rather than the mediocre ones.

7. Takkabur (Arrogation)

Another danger of hedonism is that it raises the nature of takkabur. Where mankind who holds of hedonism will begin to forget the creator, and assume that what he owned are are from the result of himself without the intervention of Allah SWT. Verily Allah hates an arrogance person as in His word:

“And We caused the earth to swallow him and his home. And there was for him no company to aid him other that Allah, nor was be of those who (could) defend themselves.” (QS. Al-Qasas : 81)

8. Eliminating Social Sensitivity

Did you know that the other danger of hedonisms is to erode the nature of social sensitivity. Where those who have this concept, will tend to be self-interested, and are reluctant to see what others are facing.

From ‘Adiy bin ‘Amirah Al Kindi Radhiyallahu ‘anhu said : I ever heard the Prophet Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said :

“Whoever of you that are assigned by us to a job (an affair), then he hides from us a needle or more, then that is the ghulul (shackles, treasure of corruption) which he will bring on the Judgement Day”.

13. Wasting Money

Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam also stated in his word, which means:

“Eat, give alms, and use it in a state without wasting money and pride”.

In Islam, wasting money is not recommended at all and is included in the a commendable aklaq. The direct influence of hedonism concept will affect a person in utilizing the money earned.

They will tend to scatter them, since for them the joy and delight of the world is everything.
