6 Duas For The Sick In Islam that Recited From The Quran

Islamic rule has so many ways to make people feel safe even when they are happy, sick, sad, grieve, or so. There is already written on the Quran to make dua for them or ourselves in so many conditions. That because the Quran has so many benefits such as the blessing virtue of the Quran surah Sajdah.

Muslims believe by make dua for themselves or others can calm the situation. That makes us feel safer than before and can reduce the anxiety that comes through. That is why, in so many ages, Muslims always make dua not only for themselves but also for others.

1. QS Al Anbiya 83 – 84

On the Quran Quran Al Anbiya verse, 83 – 84 mentions the dua when the prophet Ayub facing his disease. We can recite the dua for the sick around us so that may Allah will give His blessing on them for healing.

وَاَيُّوْبَ اِذْ نَادٰى رَبَّهٗٓ اَنِّيْ مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَاَنْتَ اَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ ۚ – ٨٣

فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهٗ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهٖ مِنْ ضُرٍّ وَّاٰتَيْنٰهُ اَهْلَهٗ وَمِثْلَهُمْ مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنْ عِنْدِنَا وَذِكْرٰى لِلْعٰبِدِيْنَ ۚ – ٨٤

“And (remember the story) Ayyub, when he prayed to his Lord, “(O my Lord), indeed, I have been stricken with disease, whereas You are the Most Merciful of all who are merciful. “(QS 21:83)

So We granted his (prayer), then We removed the disease that was in him and We returned him to him, and (We multiplied their number) as a grace from Us, and to be a warning to all who worship Us.” (QS 21:84)

Remember, that everything comes easier to Allah for those who are worth to get Allah blessing. We need to be more patient-facing the truth of what kind of sick that people had around us.

2. QS Al Baqarah 186

On the Quran surah, Al Baqarah verse 186 mentions that Allah will give everything that people pray for. The verse also mentions that we need to fulfill what Allah demand based on the Islamic way.

As we are capable of fulfilling what Allah said in the Quran including doing good deeds, do the five-day prayer, recite the Quran, and many more. May Allah will give His blessing towards people that doing these kinds of things consistently just like the benefit of doing the night prayer.

وَاِذَا سَاَلَكَ عِبَادِيْ عَنِّيْ فَاِنِّيْ قَرِيْبٌ ۗ اُجِيْبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ اِذَا دَعَانِۙ فَلْيَسْتَجِيْبُوْا لِيْ وَلْيُؤْمِنُوْا بِيْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُوْنَ – ١٨٦

“And when My servants ask you (Muhammad) about Me, then I am close. I grant the wish of the person who prays when he prays to Me. Let them fulfill My (commandments) and have faith in Me, so that they may obtain the truth.” (QS 2:186)

3. QS Al Isra 82

On the Quran surah, Al Isra verse 82 mentions that the Quran is one of the medicine for them that facing sick. That is the way it is better to recite this verse when you make dua for those who are sick. May Allah gives His blessing to heal them.

وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْاٰنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاۤءٌ وَّرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَۙ وَلَا يَزِيْدُ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ اِلَّا خَسَارًا – ٨٢

“And We send down from the Qur’an (something) that is an antidote and a mercy for those who believe, while for those who do wrong (the Qur’an) it will only increase the loss.” (QS 17:82)

4. QS Yunus 57

On the Quran surah, Yunus 57 mentions that the Quran contains so many benefits including healing the disease both physically and psyche. That makes us has more faith in Allah that capable to do anything for us.

يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاۤءَتْكُمْ مَّوْعِظَةٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ وَشِفَاۤءٌ لِّمَا فِى الصُّدُوْرِۙ وَهُدًى وَّرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ – ٥٧

“O, people! Indeed, there has come to you a lesson (Al-Qur’an) from your Lord, a cure for diseases that are in the chest, and guidance and mercy for those who believe.” (QS 10:57)

5. QS An Nahl 69

In the Quran Surah, An Nahl verse 69 mentions that the honey bee is capable to heal us from the sick as one of the values of the Quran surah An Nahl. That is why some Muslims believe that consuming the honey bee and make a dua by reciting that verse can be the right method for the sick.

ثُمَّ كُلِيْ مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرٰتِ فَاسْلُكِيْ سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلًاۗ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بُطُوْنِهَا شَرَابٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ اَلْوَانُهٗ ۖفِيْهِ شِفَاۤءٌ لِّلنَّاسِۗ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَّتَفَكَّرُوْنَ – ٦٩

“then eat of all (kinds) of fruit and then walk in the way of your Lord which has been facilitated (for you). “From the bee’s stomach comes a drink (honey) of various colors, in which there is healing medicine for humans. Indeed, in that there really is a sign (the greatness of Allah) for those who think.” (QS: 16:69)

6. QS Fussilat 44

On the Quran surah Fussilat verse 44 mentions that all the verses in the Quran made in Arabic so that it is easier to understand. That made us more knowledgeable that the Quran contains some verses that can be the medicine for the sick. Besides, it is important for us to obey the rule of seeking knowledge in Islam.

۬عْجَمِيٌّ وَّعَرَبِيٌّ ۗ قُلْ هُوَ لِلَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا هُدًى وَّشِفَاۤءٌ ۗوَالَّذِيْنَ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ فِيْٓ اٰذَانِهِمْ وَقْرٌ وَّهُوَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَمًىۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ يُنَادَوْنَ مِنْ مَّكَانٍۢ بَعِيْدٍ ࣖ – ٤٤

“The Qur’an is a guide and a cure for those who believe. And those who do not believe in their ears have blockages, and (the Qur’an) it is darkness for them. They are (like) people who are called from far away. ” (QS 41:44)
