For so many reasons, Muslims perceived that being Istiqamah is hard to do. The basic meaning of Istiqamah is about keeping the good deed towards Allah consistently. So many Muslims perceived that as a human being, sometimes it is too hard to keep consistent in doing some good deeds.
Stay Istiqamah means we have to obey what goods in Allah and avoid doing some unlawful things consistently. For some people, those things hard to do whether because of the environment or even themselves.
This time, we will bring you some of the tips on how to stay Istiqamah based on the Quran in our daily life. Let’s see some of them below!
1. Keep in Mind to Put Allah First
It is important for Muslims to always put Allah first in every step of their daily life. Muslim knows that it becomes the basic rule for loving Allah above everything. As your love towards Allah becomes stronger, the easier way to stay Istiqomah is possible.
As mentions in the Quran surah Fussilat verse 33 below.
وَمَنْ اَحْسَنُ قَوْلًا مِّمَّنْ دَعَآ اِلَى اللّٰهِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَّقَالَ اِنَّنِيْ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ – ٣٣
“And who is better at speaking than someone who calls to Allah and works good deeds and says, “Really, I am among the Muslims (who surrendered)?” (QS 41:33)
2. Self-introspection
Look deeper into yourself is important as you will figuring so many things like the part of the self-introspection. During that time, you may figure something new as one of the ways towards staying Istiqamah.
If you have a difficult way to do that, start by writing what’s good and bad for you under the name of Allah may be one of the things you can do. So much research proves that writing can help you the most during the self-introspection time such as make the Dua to keep away from sin consistently.
If Allah gives His blessing during your self-introspection time, you may capable to realize that Allah is great in everything. Such as mentions in the Quran surah Fussilah verse 37 below.
وَمِنْ اٰيٰتِهِ الَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ وَالشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُۗ لَا تَسْجُدُوْا لِلشَّمْسِ وَلَا لِلْقَمَرِ وَاسْجُدُوْا لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَهُنَّ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ اِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُوْنَ – ٣٧
“And some of the signs of His greatness are night, day, sun-day, and moon. Do not prostrate to the sun and not (also) to the moon, but bow to Allah who created it, if you only worship Him.” (QS 41:37)
3. Don’t Over Do it!
It mentions in the Quran so many times that Muslims should not to overdoing something, include the way to stay Istiqamah. For example, in daily life, often we may too focus on reading the Quran without noticing or even avoiding that the neighbor is needing some help.
For so many reasons, helping each other becomes one of the good deeds towards Allah that we should not be avoiding to. Keep the balance over the world and the hereafter may hard to do but there is a way on how to overcome guilty in Islam that we can do. But, overdoing something does not good for Muslims.
It mentions on the Quran surah Hud verse 112 below.
فَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَآ اُمِرْتَ وَمَنْ تَابَ مَعَكَ وَلَا تَطْغَوْاۗ اِنَّهٗ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ بَصِيْرٌ – ١١٢
“So remain thou (Muhammad) (on the right path), as it has been commanded to you and (also) those who repent with you, and do not transgress your limits. Indeed, He is all-seeing what you do.” (QS 11:112)
4. Be More Patient
Being more patient for Muslims is a must as Allah loves them who keep patient facing everything. May Allah will give His blessing for you with the grateful life whether in the world and the hereafter of life as mentions on the Quran surah Hud verse 115 below.
وَاصْبِرْ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُضِيْعُ اَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ – ١١٥
“And be patient, because verily Allah does not waste the reward of those who do good.” (QS 11:115)
During the process of being patient, we may don’t even know that Allah will give you more Istiqamah way. You may make a dua to avoid anger in Islam towards your patient. As mentions in the Quran surah Fussilah verse 35 below.
وَمَا يُلَقّٰىهَآ اِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ صَبَرُوْاۚ وَمَا يُلَقّٰىهَآ اِلَّا ذُوْ حَظٍّ عَظِيْمٍ – ٣٥
“And (good qualities) will not be awarded except to people who are patient and not awarded except to people who have great luck.” (QS 41:35)
5. Make the Dua
Verily Allah will answer every Dua for them who make a Dua consistently such as make some Duas read when you need something. As human beings, Muslims know well that being Istiqamah is hard to do. That because for some reason we may get over our lust towards everything, have a lack of self-control, and many more.
That already mentions in the Quran Fussilah verse 36 below.
وَاِمَّا يَنْزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطٰنِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللّٰهِ ۗاِنَّهٗ هُوَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ – ٣٦
“And if the devil bothers you with temptation, then ask Allah for protection. Indeed, he is the one who is hearing, all knowing.” (QS 41:36)
6. Don’t Give Up!
Allah doesn’t like those who give up so easily over something. Whether it is so hard to face those troublesome on you, it is better to don’t give up on it, and so does for staying Istiqamah.
Keep those good deeds daily so may you can reach to stay Istiqamah easily someday. You can also be following that thing by making some Duas for protection from Shirk as it may loosen your strength. As it mentions in the Quran surah Asy-Syura verse 15 below.
فَلِذٰلِكَ فَادْعُ ۚوَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَآ اُمِرْتَۚ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ اَهْوَاۤءَهُمْۚ – ١٥
“Therefore, call (they believe) and remain (believe and preach) as instructed to you (Muhammad) and do not follow their wishes…”
So, there are some tips for Muslims to stay Istiqamah based on the Quran in our daily life. You can apply them daily so that may Allah will give Him some of the gratitude to you.
