Rajab is one of four months that glorified by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. The four months are Dzulqoidah, Dzulhijjah, Muharrom and Rajab. They are called as “Asyhurul Hurum”. As it is mentioned by Al-Qur’an Surah At-Taubah verse 36, which reads :
“Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months inthe register of Allah [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred.” (Q.S. At-Tawbah : 36)
Rajab is called as Al-Ashom, a deaf month because there is no the voice of war in this month. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala has stoned His enemies and devils, so they cannot disturb believers.
The month of Rajab is also called as Ashab month, it is a blessing month because Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala gives many blessings for His servants who repent and Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala also bestows His shine for a whole universe.

- Isra Mi’raj
Although, there are still pro and contra between ulama. But some ulama such as Syaikh Shafiyurrahman Al Mubaarakfury in Ar Rahiqul Makhtum said that 27th of Rajab is believed as the day of Isra Mi’raj. Isra Mi’raj is an amazing journey where the Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa sallam got a command about the five daily prayer from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. He accepted this command directly from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala in the seventh heaven.

- Rajab Fasting
Basically, the law of Rajab fasting is sunnah where if you do the fasting, you will get rewards and if you leave it, that is no problem. But, although it is sunnah, every Moslem are looking forward to the arriving of Rajab month. Because there are many blessings from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala in this month.
- Near Ramadan
There is a narration that if Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam entered Rajab month, he prayed :
“O Allah, bless us in this Rajab and (also) Sya’ban, and let us meet the month of Ramadhan.” (Narrated by Imam Ahmad, from Anas bin Malik)
- Such as fasting a whole month
Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam said,
“Whoever fast one day in Rajab month, then he fast during a whole month, if he fasts seven days, then the seven doors of Hell will be closed . If he fasts eight days, then the eight doors of Heaven will be opened for him And if he fasts ten days, then Allah will grant all of his wishes.” (Narrated by At-Thabrani) [AdSense-B]
- Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala notes your good deeds during sixty months
Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa sallam said,
“Whoever fast on 27th of Rajab, Allah will notes it as people who fast during sixty months.” (Narrated by Abu Hurairah) [AdSense-A]
- Our prayers will be granted
Whoever fast during five days in the month of Rajab, then Allah Subahanhu Wa Ta’ala will grant all of his prayers.
- The door of Hell will be closed
If you fasts during seven days in the month of Rajab, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala will close the seven doors of Hell for you. So in the Hereafter later, Insha Allah, you will be not entered to the Hell by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala.
- The door of Heaven will be opened
If you fast during eight days in the month of Rajab, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala will open the eight doors of Heaven. So, you will not difficult to find the door of Heaven. But, you can choose which door you want to enter to the Heaven.

- Your sins will be erased
If you fast during ten days in the month of Rajab, then Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala will erase your sins. Not only that, He will change them with good deeds.

- You may drink in the Rajab river
If you fast one day in the month of Rajab, then you will get a water from the Rajab river where its water is sweeter than honey. As it is mentioned in a hadith below :
“Indeed, there is a river that called Rajab in the Heaven, its water is more white than milk and its taste is sweeter than honey. Whoever fast one day in the month of Rajab, then he will be blessed to drink from that river.”
- Read shalawat and get a river
Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa sallam said,
“In the night of mi’raj, I saw a river where its water is sweeter than honey, it is cooler than stone’s water and it is more fragrant than perfume, then I asked to Jibril : “O Jibril, for whom is this river?” Then Jibril said : “O Muhammad, this river is people who recite shalawat for you in this Rajab month.”
- Rajab is the month of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala
The narration of Abu Fath from al-Hasan, the Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa sallam said that
“Rajab is the month of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, Sya’ban is mine, and Ramadan is the month of my people.”
- Fasting on the 1st, 2nd and 3th of Rajab
Whoever fast on the 1st, 2nd and 3th of Rajab, the he will get some rewards such as the willing of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala and the nobility in His side.
- Fasting on the 27th of Rajab
If you fast on the 27th of Rajab, then you will get rewards from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. The reward is like fasting during five years.
There is an intention of fasting in the month of Rajab, which reads
نَوَيْتُ صَوْمَ غَدٍ فِى شَهْرِ رَجَبِ سُنَّةً ِللهِ تَعَالَى
Nawaitu sauma ghadin fi syahri rojabi sunatan lillahi ta’ala
“I intend to fast tomorrow in the month of Rajab, sunnah because Allah Ta’ala.”
