Surah Al Lahab or Al Masad is the 111th surah in the Quran which consists of 5 verses and including to makiyyah Surah. The name of this surah is taken from Al Lahab in the third verse of the surah with the meaning of fire flare.
The essence of this surah contains the fate of Prophet’s uncle Abu Lahab and his wife, who are threatened with the torments of hell. (Read : How to Get Sins Forgiven in Islam)
Allah SWT says,
“May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained. He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame. And his wife [as well] – the carrier of firewood. Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber”[QS. Al Lahab: 1-5].
1. Increasingly Afraid to Do the Immoral Things
By reading Surah Al Lahab about the cruel torture of hell, it is necessary to make all Muslims to be more afraid of Allah SWT and also fear in disobeying Allah SWT especially in matters relating to immorality and committing do adultery in Islam.
2. Building Family In Faith
The relationship of a happy family according to Islam will give benefit if it is built on faith like the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam who is very close to Abu Lahab as a relative but not useful to Abu Lahab who has no faith. (Read also : How to Increase Iman in Islam)
3. Holding the Rain
If someone wants to hold or organize a wedding or other ceremony, travel and do not want that rain can hamper the event, then read the Al Lahab surah then Insha Allah the rain will be off even though the weather is cloudy.
4. Facing Someone Frightened
Surah Al Lahab also provides intercession and virtue for man as for example is whenfacing that we frightened of and threatened us indirectly. Al Lahab surah can be read twice when dealing with the person.
5. Recognize Al Lahab Surah
Surah Al Lahab is one of short surah and also classified as makiyyah surah because it was revealed in the city of Mecca before the Prophet Muhammad did migrate to Medina. The surah of Al Lahab is located after Surah An Nasr. By reading Surah Al Lahab, we will know more about the terrible punishment of hell that will be accepted when one enters into the cruel of hell. 6. Far from Suffering Life
Another virtue that can be derived from Surah Al Lahab is a warning to anyone who has a temperament and character like Abu Lahab who likes to make slander in Islam, it will certainly experience a life filled with suffering. A person like this will make himself fall in an endless valley. [AdSense-C]
7. Signs of the Power of Allah SWT
Surah Al Lahab is also a sign of the great power of Allah SWT whreas Allah has sent down this surah related to the condition of Abu Lahab and his wife while they still alive and both of them have been set to be tormented in the fires of hell and become unbelievers. This indicates if anything that has been reported by Allah SWT will surely happen.
8. Haram to Disturbs the Believers
As Abu Lahab did to the Prophet Muhammad SAW who always been malicious and disrespectful to the Prophet Muhammad, this can be an example if disturbing someone who has faith is a haram deed which is a major sin in Islam and the consequences that must be faced is to go to hell and become an unbeliever.

9. Treasure Will Be Not Saving From Allah’s Punishment SWT
Allah Almighty says,
“His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained.” [Al-Lahab: 2] “.
This means that the treasures in Islam that are cultivated will not can save the owner from naar so that Allah Almighty said, “Maa agnaa anhu maaluhu” which means the treasure will not be able to save from the torture of Allah SWT.
10. The Threat of Hell for the Luxury of the World
Allah SWT said,
“He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame.” [Al-Lahab: 3]
The fragmentation of this verse means if the threat given by Allah Almighty to Abu Lahab that in the near future will be entered in the fire of hell is also a warning for us who often live luxury life in the world as Abu Lahab did, they will enter into the turbulent fire.
