Black magic is sort of practice or ritual of using a supernatural powers or magic for a bad, selfish, and evil purposes. In Islam itself black magic is related with and an evil deeds and extremely forbidden since it equal to associate Allah SWT with something else or anything else and it will lead muslim into shirk.
There is a verse in Al-Qur’an that literally telling about the practice of magic or black magic :
“And they followed (instead) what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils dibelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But the two angels do not teach anyone unless they say.
‘We are a trial, so do not disbelieve (by practicing magic).’ And (yet) they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah.
And the people learn what harms them and does not benefit them. But the Children of Israel certainly knew what whoever purchased the magic would not have in the Hereafter any share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew.” (QS. Al-Baqarah : 102)
Thus from the verse we see some of the side effects of black magic for people. But there are a lot of side effects of black magic in Islam and we as muslims should know and understand it, in order to avoid black magic from ourselves, family, friends, or other people arround us. These are the side effects of black magic in Islam :
1. It cause harm to other people
Black magic definitely will cause harm to other people, since that is the sole intention of performing black magic. In the fellowship with a demon or satan someone want to cause harm such as sickness, accident, or misfortune for the one he hate.
“He said, ‘Throw, and when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struct terror into them, and they presented a great (feat of) magic.” (QS. Al-A’raf : 116)
Indeed, black magic cause a lot of harm such as terror and delusional mind and that magic is very prohibited in Islam. Read also : effects of slander in islam
2. It is a form of Shirk
“Whoever blows on knots practices magic, and whoever practices magic is a mushrik (polytheist).” (Narrated by At-Tabarani)
Whoever perform magic or even a black magic will included as shirk or mushrik which Allah SWT and His Prophet hate the most. Muslims should avoid it if they dont want to be part of shirk or included as mushrik. [AdSense-B]
3. Magic is a mere illusions
Magic actually an illusions made by satan and the sole purposes is to deceive mankind to follow them and distinct them from being a believer.

4. It only happened if we believe
The above verse mentioned that …But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah… which means that black magic have no effect by the will of Allah SWT.
But if you already believed it would affected you and you put your trust on it than it may affected you literally, unless you do not care about it and only seek help and protection from Allah.
Than may Allah blessed and guard you with His Almighty power and that evil is no match for Him.
“Private conversations is only from Satan that he may grieve those who have believed, but he will nnot harm them at all except by permission of Allah. And upon Allah let the believers rely.” (QS. Al-Mujadila : 10)
Thus, muslim in any kind of matter should only rely on Allah, the evil will nothing compare to the bless and authority of God. As mentioned in the verse below:

“Indeed, there is for him no authority over those who have believed and rely upon their Lord.” (QS. An-Nahl : 99)
Rasulullah SAW also said in the following hadith:
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from all evil things, both male and female.” (Narrated by Bukhari)
5. It is a deadly and noxious act
As mentioned in the following hadith, Rasulullah SAW said :
“Avoid the seven noxious things: associating anything with Allah, magic, killing one whom Allah has declared inviolate without a just cause, consuming the property of an orphan, devouring riba (interest), turning back when the army advances, and slandering chaste women who are believers but indiscreet.” (Narrated by Muslim)
Indeed the above hadith explained to us that magic is a deadly acts and equal with associating anything with Allah, killing someone, devouring riba, slandering woman, and so forth.

6. We won’t accept of blessing from Allah SWT
Allah hate a human who commit shirk, since it was a tremendeous sin and it was mentioned in the following verse :
“Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgiven what is less that that for whom He wills. And he who associate others with Allah has certainly fabricated a tremendeous sin.” (QS. An-Nisa : 48)
And whoever commit shirk and die in such state than Allah will not forgive him which will lead him into evilist hell.
“They have certainly disbelieved who say, ‘Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary’ while Messiah has said, ‘O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.’ Indeed, he who associates others with Allah –
Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for wrongdoers any helpers.” (QS. Al-Ma’idah : 72)
7. People who perform black magic is included as disbeliever
the Prophet Muhammad SAW said in the following hadith:
“Whoever goes to a fortune teller ( a soothe sayer) or a diviner and believes him, has in fact, disbelieved in what has been revealed to Muhammad SAW.” (Narrated by Abu Dawud)
The hadith mentioned that whoever come to fortune teller or its associated branches indeed they are denies Rasulullah and his message he brought and included as disbeliever since in Islam muslim or believers only rely on Allah SWT in any of their problem and only seek for His guardiance.
