Al-Qur’an is a guidance and way of life for Muslims. It is a source of rules, knowledge, and law that can be implemented in our life both now or in the future. Quran is the book of Allah, and unlike any other books or source of knowledge, Quran is the timeless speech of Allah. It was not created by human being, but all the content were come only from Allah SWT through His Messenger.

“Then do they not reflect upon the Quran? If it had been from (any) other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction”

QS. An-Nisa : 82

Our brain or mind is very important, that’s what makes human different from any other creature. We have been blessed by brain to think before doing our action. In the other hand, Quran has played an important part in Muslims life. It gives a good vibe, and people believe that it could controlling our brain. The questions are how Quran controlling our brain? The Prophet of Muhammad said in the following hadiths,

“The superiority of the speech of Allah compared to all the speech is like the superiority of Allah over His creation.”

“Indeed Allah, through this Book, raises some peoples and lowers others.”

From the hadith above we do understand that Quran is very important. It can create us to be a better person or lead us to goodness, and if we do not read it, it may cause misguidance or lead us to a wrong way.

1. It will make our brain to be more focus

Reciting Quran regularly can help our brain to be more focus, especially for us who rarely use Arabic as our daily language since we are not a native speakers. You may want to read about law of saying bad swear in Islam.

2. Get rid of bad thoughts from our brain

The teachings included in Quran encourage Muslims to always perform good deeds as well as avoiding bad thoughts. “Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward, and this reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying Alif, Lam, Meem (a combination of letters frequently mentioned in the Holy Quran) is a letter, rather i am saying that Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Meem is a letter.”

3. Improve our brain capacity

It is not easy to learn new thing, especially new language and new words like Arabic when we are not a native speaker. More effort is needed to perform it. What is written in the Quran contains positive things. We are encourage to perform good deed, always behave well, and do not commit any act that lead us to sin. Quran also teach us to treat other people in great manner despite of their background. As mentioned in the following verse,

“Allah does not found you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.”

6. It will helps the brain work more calmly

Another ways on how Quran can control your brain is that Quran can make our brain peaceful. Just read couples of verse in Quran will help your brain calmer. Although our brain has working hard everyday but if we listen to Quran verses, it will relieve stress on the brain.

Trying to read Arabic font, help us to exercise our brain. Reading and learning word by word will help us increasing knowledge which means help our brain to develop.
