Bismillahirrahmaanirrahiim. All the praise due to Allah, the most merciful. Every human in the world dream of a happy and pleasant life. Name it children, adult, and elder. To have a happy life, everyone should make their life better first. The key to make life better in Islam is by following the advice from the Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Staying away from anything that Allah hates and forbid is the fastest way to make life better.
The supplication of every one of His slaves will be granted so long as he does not get impatient and says “I supplicated my Lord again and again but I do not think my prayers will be answered.” – Bukhari and Muslim
Here are all the ways on how to make a better life in Islam:
1. Do Everything to Please Allah
Allah creates human being under one purpose: to do everything to please Him. Actually, the way to please Allah will be useful to help us later in the Hereafter. And nothing could make our heart happier and satisfy other than knowing that what we have done is pleasing to Allah SWT.
As the Prophet said, “I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad as my Prophet” – Abu Dawud

2. Be Grateful with Everything You Have
Allah has sufficed you in the world by giving what you need, not what you want. But human often do not understand this and not being grateful to Allah despite all blessing that He gives. The more grateful we are, the more Allah will give us.
“If you express gratitude, I shall certainly give you more, and if you are ungrateful, then My punishment is severe.” – Ibrahim (14:7)
3. Feed Your Soul
Feed your soul, not your body. Satisfy your soul, not your body. Do many activities that will make yourself improve in some ways. Seeking for knowledge, help the people in need, and assisting the elders will bring to your heart and make your life a lot better.
As the Prophet said, “True enrichment does not come through possessing a lot of wealth, but true enrichment is the enrichment of the soul.” – Bukhari

4. Do Not Compare Yourself
If you often feel that somebody’s life is better than yours, then your life will never get better. Never look up at celebrities and rich people who seemed to have an easy and wealthy life. Look up at the life that our Prophet (SAW) and his wife, Khadija was living instead.
The Prophet said, “Look at those below you (less fortunate than you), and don’t look at those above you, for this is better.” – Muslim

5. Do Not Expect on Anything Except Allah
To put expectation on human being is wrong, as they heart continually change and they may bring you down. But Allah never. He never once disappoint you no matter what kind of expectation you have for Him.
“O Allah, give me enough of what You have made lawful to suffice me from what You have made unlawful, and enrich me by Your bounty giving me independence from all other than You.” – Tirmidhi

6. Do Many Good Deeds
Do many good deeds to make your heart feel at ease and your life feel better. Do a small charity, maintain the close bond with your family, and give support to those in need. The other’s happiness will bring you happiness as well.
“All created beings are the dependants of Allah, and the most beloved of creation to Allah is the one who is good to His dependants.” – Bayhaqi
7. Create a Good Habit
“The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) had carefully apportioned his time according to the demands on him for: offering worship to Allah public affairs, and personal matters.
After the early morning prayers he would remain sitting in the mosque reciting praises of Allah till the sun rose and more people collected. He would then preach to them. After the sermons were over, he would talk genially with the people, enquire about their welfare and even exchange jokes with them. Taxes and revenues were also distributed at this time.” – Muslim

8. Surround Yourself with Good People
Be with people who, always give you support when you’re down but screaming in joy when you’re happy. This positive things will affect you positively.
“The (example of) believers (in their mutual love, care and concern) is like a single person: if his eye complains of pain his whole body complains of pain, and if his head complains of pain his whole body complains of pain.” – Muslim

9. Only Eat Halal and Healthy Food
Feed your body with only halal and healthy food. Stay away from pork, animal that is slaughtered without the name of Allah, alcoholic drink and other haraam food that Allah forbids.

Good Deeds to Make Life Better
Make your life better by doing good deeds everyday. Here are the list of good deeds that you can be done and it’s not that hard.
1. Praying in the Mosque
The Prophet said, “Whoever goes to the mosque in the morning and evening, Allah will prepare for him an honorable place in the Paradise every time he goes and comes.” – Bukhari
2. Recite Quran Daily
The Prophet said in a hadith,“Whoever reads a letter of the Book of Allah will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets tenfold reward. I do not say that alif-laam-meem is a letter, rather alif is a letter, laam is a letter and meem is a letter.” – Bukhari
3. Make Charity and Voluntary Work
Helping others in need, making little charity and do the voluntarily work will make your life better.
4. Don’t Miss the Isya and Fajr Prayer
“He who prays Isha in Jamah (congregation) is as if he has prayed for half the night. As to him who (also) prays Fajr in congregation, it is as if he prayed all night.” – Muslim
5. Seek for Islamic Knowledge
Learn to know Islam better and you will find yourself immersed and deeply in love with Islam, Allah SWT, and Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
