Faith is the most important foundation for a Muslim to have. As Allah defines someone’s level not by their looks of wealth, but by faith. We live in this world under Allah’s permission, so that everything we do must please Him.
Allah SWT has already own everything, so He doesn’t asks anything from us. Allah only want a thing: faith. Faith would defined our fate in the Hereafter to the Day of Judgement, so it’s important for us to have a strong faith. A Muslim with a weak faith or Imaan is an easy target to the evil whisper of Shaytaan.
Here are the useful ways how to make my faith stronger in Islam.
1. Make Up Your Mind
Make up your mind and have a strong will is important before you do the steps to strengthen you faith. Since being istiqamah is not easy, many Muslim unable to make their faith stronger. Pray to Allah so that your heart will be unchanging and keep waking in the path of Allah.

2. Repent for Your Mistake
Human commit since everyday. There are major sins that we did under our consciousness, but there are more minor sins that we unconsciously did. Repent all those mistakes to Allah, admit that you are dirty with sins.
“Surely Allah loves those who turn unto him in repentance…” – Al Baqara (2:222)
3. Ask for Forgiveness from Allah SWT
Never cease to ask for Allah’s forgiveness. Us human never know how big of sins we have, and we should ask for forgiveness from Allah endlessly. Promise to Allah that you will never redo the sins again and do many good deeds to compensate it.
“Seek forgiveness of your Lord and then turn to Him in repentance.” – Hud (11:3)

4. Do Salah Regularly
After the Shahada, Salah is the most important thing as one of the five pillars in Islam.
“The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses -this Qur’an- are recited unto them, they (i.e. the Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone); Who perform salah and spend out of that We have provided them. It is they who are the believers in truth. For them are grades of dignity with their Lord, and Forgiveness and a generous provision (Paradise)” – Al Anfal (8:2-4)
5. Recite Quran and Its Meaning
Quran is the best remedy to our soul and mind. It contains the guide for living in the world. As Allah has said inside it:
“Those to whom We gave the book (the Qur’an) recite it as it should be recited, they are the ones that believe therein. And who disbelieves in it (the Qur’an), those are the losers.” – Al Baqara (2:121)
“(This is) a book (the Qur’an) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its verses, and that men of understanding may remember.” – Sad (38:29)

6. Surround Yourself with Good People
Choosing the right friend in Islam is very important because they influence your faith to Allah SWT. A good friend leads you to the right path and brings you closer to Allah SWT, while a bad one might become a bad influence for you. As the Prophet (SAW) said,
“Your best friend is the one who: seeing him reminds you of Allah, speaking to him increases your knowledge, and his actions remind you of the hereafter.” – Al Muhasibi
7. Do More Fasting
Fasting has many benefits than you could ever imagine. Fasting is an act for restraining the desire and showing obedience and love at the same time. You can do fasting not only in the month of Ramadan, but voluntarily in other month especially Monday and Thursday as the Prophet (SAW) used to do,
“The deeds of people are presented to Allah on every Monday and Thursday. Allah forgives every Muslim except for those who are deserting each other. He says: “leave them for later.” – Ahmad & Hasan

8. Read More About Jannah
Jannah or Paradise is the ultimate destination for all Muslim. Increase your knowledge about Jannah to motivate yourself to love Allah SWT even more.
9. Keep Your Dhikr
Always be in remembrance of Allah SWT by engage yourself in Dhikr no matter where you are and what you do. There are various Dhikr you can do, and all contained Allah’s name. Only by keeping Allah SWT inside our heart, mind, and soul we can feel closeness to Him.
“…Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.” – Ar Ra’d (13:28)
The Prophet has also said about Dhikr
“When a man complained, “The laws of Islam are too heavy for me, so tell me something that I can easily follow,” the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) told him, “Let your tongue be always busy with the remembrance of Allah.” – Ahmad

10. Do More Good Deeds
Increasing the faith means following His order and keep away from things that he prohibited. You don’t have to do a big good deed, but do small deeds continuously. As the Prophet (SAW) said,
“The best deeds are those we are consistent with, even if they are small deeds.” – Bukhari.
Those are the ways how to make my faith stronger in Islam. Having a strong faith brings many benefits to us and our life will always be blessed by Allah SWT. Let us fill our heart with love and faith to Allah. And He will repay our deeds ten times better.
