Kaaba is in Mecca. It is a holy place for Moslems in the world. It has also some importance as the explanation in Qur’an and Al Hadith. Every year, Moslems come to Kaaba together. They do Hajj or Umrah. So in this chance, this article will discuss about the importance of Kaaba in Islam. Please see the explanation below.
- It is the first house of worship
Ali radhiyallahu anhu narrated that the first house of worship is Kaaba. And companions narrated that before Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala was created earth, this place was liked a scum on the water, then it was shared to all of earth parts and earth was created from it. (The book of Durrul-Mantsur). As it is also explained in Qur’an Surah Ali Imran verse 96, which reads :
إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِي بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكًا وَهُدًى لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
“Indeed, the first House [of worship] established for mankind was that at Makah – blessed and a guidance for the worlds.”
- There is the grave of Abraham
The grave of Abraham is a stepping stone of Ibrahim. The Prophet Abraham ‘alaihi sallam used it when he was building Kaaba and until now his footprints is still looked clearly. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala says,
فِيهِ آيَاتٌ بَيِّـنَاتٌ مَّقَامُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
“In it are clear signs [such as] the standing place of Abraham.” (Q.S. Ali Imran : 97)
- It is a haram land
Kaaba (Mecca) is a haram land. Every body are forbidden to kill and shed the blood each other. So if someone who will be punished qishos come to that haram land, then the punishment will not be done, except he has been out from haram land. Besides that, it is a safe place. If someone do prayers, fasting, zakat and other good deeds. He will avoid from the slander of Dajjal because the slander of Dajjal never come to this place. Baitullah is the last place that will be destroyed in the Doomsday later.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala says that,
وَمَن دَخَلَهُ كَانَ آمِنًا
“And whoever enters it shall be safe.” (Q.S. Ali Imran : 97)
- It is a gathering place
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala says,
“And [mention] when We made the House a place of return for the people and [a place of] security.” (Q.S. Al-Baqarah : 125)
If someone has done Hajj and Umrah, then he really wants to be back to Baitullah and he will always miss Kaaba in his heart. Moreover if he knows that in this place one goodness is equal to one thousand goodness, he will really miss Kaaba so much.

- There are seven thousands angels in Kaaba
