In our daily life, sometimes we feel that we should ask Allah’s to guide us, help us, solve our problems, and even our will. We only can communicate with Allah privately from deep in our heart is by dua (supplication) and we have to found out the best time to make dua. By du’a, all of our will and problems of life will be blessed by Him through our supplication, and if it is not what we want, then maybe Allah give us the best according to Him. It is as quoted in Quran 2: 216 (Al Baqara)
“Perhaps you dislike a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you don’t”
There is some best time to make dua which Allah may accept will be explained in some points below:

According to Hadith Narrated by Tirmidhi it was Abu Umamaah asking the Prophet “O Messenger of Allah, which dua is heard?” The Prophet Mohammed answered “In the last third of the night and following the obligatory prayer” (3499). The last third of the night is the most blessed time to perform dua because the Lord will come to our world and granted to His people who pray to Him at the time. The Messenger PBUH said that:
“Our Lord descent in the last third every night. Then He said: “Whoever pray to me I will grant,whoever ask to me I will give, whoever asking forgiveness to me I will forgive” (HR. Bukhari 1145 and Muslim 758).

2. After the Suhoor Time as We Intend Fasting
We do suhoor (early breakfast at fasting day) before fajr praying time and it mostly in the last third night between 2 am – 4 am. Allah loves His slavers which are praying in the suhoor time, means for a last third night. According to Quran Adh Dhariyat: 18:
“And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness“
It is not difficult to supplicate in the last third of the night if you usually fasting and wake up for suhoor. The suhoor time is the ideal time for performing dua.

3. In the Late at Night
The Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said that
“’There is one hour at night, no Muslim happens for asking Allah any matter of this world or the Hereafter, except that He will be given it, and it occurs every night” (Muslim 757). From the hadith concludes that Allah will give the people the opportunity and answer who can fight sleep and wake up to pray to Allah.

4. Between Adhan and Iqamah
Our Prophet PBUH said that:
“A dua offered between adhan and Iqama is not rejected” (Abu Dawood 521 & Tirmidhi 212).
So that it is possible our prayer will accept by Allah if we perform in the time between Adhan and Iqama.

5. A Time On Friday
The Messenger said as Narrated by Abu Hurairah about Friday:
“ The messenger had talked about Friday and said “There is a time on Friday when a Moslem pray and ask to Allah for something, then surely Allah will granted him anything the moslem ask” And the messenger pointed the shorty time with his hand gesture” (Bukhari 935, Muslim 852)
There are some scholarship arguments said about what the time the messenger meant. Some said that the short time is when an Imam leads the Friday prayer until finish. Other said that it is after Ashr prayer time or before the end of Ashr time. Others said that it means anytime as long as in the Friday.

6. While Prostrating (Sujood)
Narrated by Muslim in 482, Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said that:
“The closest moment with the Lord is when a Moslem do prostrating, so make much dua during the time”

7. At the Time After Obligatory Prayer
Our Messenger Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said that
“There is a question that: O my Messenger of Allah, when should we do praying in order Allah hear our dua?” He said “the end of the night and at the end of the obligatory prayer” (Tirmidhi, 3499).
It is explained that the dua should perform in the end of the obligatory prayer before salaam (closing) and it is not after salaam. After salaam, it is suggested we perform dhikr instead of supplication.

8. When Waking Up at Night
Prophet Mohammed said about people who suddenly waking up at night as narrated by Ubada bin As-Samit:
“Whoever wakes up in the night and says ‘Laa ilaaha illallahu wahdahu la shareeka lahu lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu, wa huwa alaa kulli shay-in qadeer. Alhamdu lillahi, wa subhanallahi wa laa ilaaha illallaahu wallahu akbar, wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa billaahi’ (There is no God but Allah, He is the only One and has no partners, His is the Sovereignty, all the praises are for Him and He is over all things Capable. Glory be to Allah, there is no (true) God but Allah, and Allah is Most Great and there is no power and no strength except with Allaah); then says’Allahumma ighfirli (O Allah, please forgive me) or recite the dua for Allah, Allah will respond the supplication and if continued to perform ablution (wudu) and perform prayer, then his prayer will be accepted” (Bukhari 1154).

9. During Adhan (Praying Call)
According to hadith reported by Imam al Shafi in al-Umm
“Seek the response to your dua when the armies meet, when the prayer is called, and when the rain falls” (Sahihah 1469)
From the hadith above, it is recommended the Moslem perform dua (supplication) during adhan, because your dua will be accepted by Allah. Other hadith narrated by Abu Dawood
“There are two that will likely not be rejected: dua at the time of the adhan and while in the battle when both sides strike one another”

10. When the Rain Falls
The same with the praying during adhan, it is quoted in hadith narrated Sahihah 1469:
“Seek the response to your dua when the armies meet, when the prayer is called (adhan), and when the rain falls”
Other hadith quoted:
“There are two of the moment the dua will not be rejected: Dua at the time of praying call (adhan) and when it is raining” (Abu Dawood in Saheeh al-Jaami’ 3078)
11. When the Battle Happen
Our Prophet PBUH said that:
“There are two dua are never rejected: the dua at the time of calling prayer (adhan) and the dua during the battle when the armies strike one another” (Abu Dawood 2540)
Another hadith as well said:
“Seek the response to your dua when the armies meet, when the prayer is called, and when the rain falls” (Sahihah 1469)
12. While Drinking Zamzam Water
Jabeer R.A narrated that the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said:
“Zamzam water is for what it is drunk for” (Saheeh by al-Albani in Saheeh al-Jaami 5502)
It means that the benefit of Zamzam water whoever drinks it will be blessed as you may ask to Allah.

13. The Night Of ‘Qadr’ (Decree)
As a Moslem, we all know that the night of decree (Qadar) is the greatest night equal with thousand months. As quoted in Quran Qadr : 3 :
“The night of Al-Qadar (Decree) is better than a thousand months”
The night of decree is the latest ten nights on the Ramadan month which Moslems should multiply worshipping to Allah and do more recitation. For the night is angles descend down with Lord’s approval and the earth will be surrounded with peace until the dawn. It was that Aisha asked Prophet Mohammed about the Laylat-ul-Qadr:
“O my Messenger of Allah, what do you know I should recite if I recognize night of Qadr? He said “Allaahumma innaka ‘afuwwan tuhibb ul-‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni (O Allah, You are Forgiver, You love forgiving, please forgive me)”” (Tirmidhi, 3513, Ibnu Majah, 3119)
14. Dua of The One Who Is Suffering Injustice and Oppression
The Prophet Mohammed said that:
“There are three which is the dua is never rejected:the fasting person untils he break his fasting, the righteous leader and the one who is oppressed” (Ahmad, Tirmidhi)
Another hadith which is narrated by Saheeh Al Bukhari and Muslim:
“Beware of the dua of the one who is suffering injustice, because there is no shelter between him/her and Allah”
15. Dua of the Righteous (Justice) Leader
It is the same part of hadith which has described in the point of dua of the one who suffering narrated above by Ahmad and Tirmidhi:
“There are three which is the dua is never rejected:the fasting person untils he break his fasting, the righteous leader and the one who is opressed”
16. The Traveler
Other hadith from our Messenger of Allah about unrejected dua:
“Three supplication will not be rejected are: the dua of parents for their children, the dua of a fasting person and the dua of the traveler” (Baihaqi and Timrmidhi).
The supplication accepted by Allah is only for the good trip of a traveler such as in the pilgrimage trip (hajj) or other good trips. For bad reason intention or perform illegal things are not included.
17. The Parent’s Supplication for their Childs
The hadith of unrejected dua on the point above (by Bayhaqi and Tirmidhi) is the same part the dua of parents for their children, the dua of a fasting person and the dua of the traveler.
Every parent wants the best for their children so that they usually perform supplication (dua) for their children’s success and get the best. So that, Allah will granted of dua from parents to their children.
18. Dua After Praising Allah and Giving Salat on The Prophet (SAW) in the Tashahhud at the End of Salat
As narrated by Faddalah ibn Ubayd:
“The Messenger of Allah said “When any of you perform supplication (dua), start by gloryfying the Lord and praising Him, then send blessings upon the Prophet (PBUH), the you can pray for whatever you want””(Abu Dawood 1481, Tirmidhi 3477)
Other hadith said that as Ibn Mas’ood narrates:
“I was once praying when the Prophet, Abu Bakr, and Umar present. When I sat down on final tashahhud, I praised Allah then sent salam on the Prophet, then I begin praying. At the time, the Prophet said that:” Ask, and you shall be given it! Ask, and you will be given it!””(Tirmidhi 593)
19. The Dua of a Moslem for his Moslem Brother / Sister’s Absence (behind the back)
The prophet (SAW) said:
‘There is no believing servant who supplicates for his brother in his absence where the angels do not say, ‘the same also be for you” [Sahih Muslim 2732]
20. Dua During the month of Ramadan
It is the months of full blessing when the doors of hell are closed and shaitans are locked up. It is recommended to perform more dua in this month. As our Messenger of Allah said:
“When ramadan comes, the Door of Mercy are opened, the doors of hell arew closed, and the devils are locked. Then it is clear that duas during Ramadan are more likely being accepted, as the gate of Paradise and Mercy are widely opened” (Sahih Bukhari 1899, Muslim 1079 )
21. Dua of the One Fasting until He Breaks His Fast
The recommended time of dua is referred to hadith which are same to Dua for Traveler and Dua of parents to their children:
“Three supplication will not be rejected are: the dua of parents for their children, the dua of a fasting person and the dua of the traveler” (Baihaqi and Timrmidhi).
22. At Midnight
A companion asked the Messenger of God:
“Which Dua is heard by Allah?” he answered “At midnight and the end of every obligatory prayer (Tirmidhi & Hasan).
Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) as well said that:
“ During the night, there is a time when the Moslems don’t ask for good of the world and the hereafter day, but He will give him, and it happens every night” (Muslim 757).
23. Dua When the Heart Reaches Out to Allah and is Ready to be Totally Sincere
When you feeling so sincere and feel so blessed in your life, be better if you do Dua with sincere heart. Therefore, your wishes might be reach to God and soon to become true.
24. Dua on the Day of Arafat
Our Prophet said that: “The best supplication is the supplication on the day of Arafat” (Tirmidhi and Malik).
It means the day of million Moslem all over the world gather in a great dessert namely Arafah. It always on the day of Eid-ul-Adha’s Eve.
25. When Muslims Gather for The Purpose of Invoking and Remembering Allah (Dhikrullah)
Our Messenger of Allah, the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said:
“If a group of people sit together reciting to Allah, the angels will circle them, mercy will surrounding them, peace will descend onto them and Allah will remember them among those with Him.”(Muslim)
26. First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah
According to the Hadith:
“There are no days of good deeds are more beloved to Allah than during these ten days”
(Bukhari 969)
27. Dua of People After the Death of a Person
It is Ummu Salamah narrated that when Abu Salamah had just passed away and had closed his eyes, the Prophet (PBUH) said,
“Do not ask anything but good for yourself,because the angels will say ‘Ameen’ to all that you ask for. O Allah, forgive Abu Salamah, and raise his ranks among those who are guided.” [Muslim, Abu Dawood, Ahmad]
28. Dua of the One Fasting at the Time of Breaking Fast
Our Messenger of God said:
Three men whose dua is not reject: when a fasting person break the fast, the righteous leader and the one who is oppressed (Tirmidhi 2528)
29. Dua of a Son or Daughter Obedient to His or Her Parents
It is stated in hadith:
“When the son of Adam dies, all of his deeds come to end except: charities, a righteous son or daughter who pray for him, and beneficial knowledge” (Muslim, 1631)
30. Dua Immediately After Wudu
It is Umar ibn Khatabb which told about what the Prophet said:
“There is no one of you which perform ablution (wudu) perfectly, then says: “I testify that there is not anything worthy of worship except Allah, he is the One and has no partner. And I bear witness that Mohmmed is His slave and messenger”, except that the eight gates of Paradise are opened and he can enter it whatever he pleases” (Muslim 234, Abu Dawud 162)
31. Dua after Throwing Stone the Jamarat at Hajj
Throwing stones in the Jamarat is part of activities when a Moslem perform hajj in the last days of hajj. Moslems throw the pillar describing as Shaitan by the stone in three Jamrat consisting of Jamrat Sugra (small), Jamrat Wusta (middle), and Jamrat Kubra (large Jamrat). It is narrated that the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) would throw the small Jamarah with stone, then face qiblah, raise his hands and make supplication (dua) for a long time. He then would throw the stones to the middle Jamrat, face qiblah than dua. In the large Jamrat, he did not make supplication after throwing rock (Bukhari 1753)

32. At the Crowing of a Rooster
Prophet Mohammed said as narrated by Abu Hurairah:
“When hearing a rooster crowing, then ask Allah of His bounty, for it has seen an angel, and when you hear the donkey braying, then seek refugee in Allah from Shaitan, for it has seen a Shaitan” (Bukhari, Muslim)
33. Du’a Made Inside the Ka’bah
Usama ibn Zayd narrated:
“ When the Prophet (PBUH) entered Ka’bah, he made supplication (dua) in all of the corners (Muslim 2:968)
34. Du’a on the Mount of Safa or Marwah during Umrah or Hajj
It is narrated that the Prophet (SAW) would make long du’as at Safa and Marwah. [Muslim #1218 and others]
35. Dua at Any of the Holy Sites
When doing dua and recital in every sacred moeslem event or moment, such as muharram day, or Eid Al-Fitr and Adha Day, it best if you do Dua and Recital to Allah SWT.
36. While reciting Surah al-Fatihah
The Prophet (SAW) said that Allah the Exalted had said:
‘ I have divided the prayer into two halves between Me and My servant, and My servant will receive what he asks for. When the servant says: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the universe, Allah the Most High says: My servant has praised Me. And when he (the servant) says: The Most Compassionate, the Merciful, Allah the Most High says: My servant has lauded Me. When he (the servant) says: Master of the Day of Judgment, He remarks: My servant has glorified Me, and sometimes He will say: My servant entrusted (his affairs) to Me. When he (the worshipper) says: Thee do we worship and of Thee do we ask help, He (Allah) says: This is between Me and My servant, and My servant will receive what he asks for. Then, when he (the worshipper) says: Guide us to the straight path, the path of those to whom Thou hast been Gracious — not of those who have incurred Thy displeasure, nor of those who have gone astray, He (Allah) says: This is for My servant, and My servant will receive what he asks for‘. [Muslim 4: 395]
37. Saying ‘Ameen’ During Prayer
After the Imam finishing the recitation of al-Fatihah, it is followed by the congregation (Makmum) saying of ‘Ameen’ loudly together. The Prophet (SAW) said:
“When the Imam says ‘Ameen’, then recite it behind him (as well), because whoever’s Ameen coincides with the Ameen of the angels will have all of his sins forgiven.” [Sahih al-Bukhari #780, Muslim #410 and others]
38. While Visiting the Sick, and Dua Made by the Sick
According to Umm Salamah which narrated on what Prophet Mohammed once said:
“When you visit a sick person, say a good things for the angels say Ameen to whatever you say” (Muslim #2126)
Other hadith reported by Ali that the Prophet said:
“When a Moslem visit other Moslem brother in the morning, seventy thousand angels make dua for his forgiveess till the morning, and that the Moslem will be granted a garden in Jannah” (Tirmidhi, Abu Dawood)
39. When Calamity Befalls Him
It was narrated by Umm Salamah said that she heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
“There is no calamity that befalls one of the Muslims and he responds by saying ‘Innaa Lillaahi wa innaa ilahi raaji’oon, Allaahumma ujurni fi museebati w’ukhluf li khayran minha (Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return; O Allah, reward me in this calamity and compensate me with something better than it), then Allah will compensate him something better”. (Muslim 918)
40. Dua of Prophet Yoonus When He was in the Darkness of the Belly of Whale
It is narrated that the Prophet Mohammed said:
“The prayer of Dhu’l-Noon (Yoonus) which he said when he was in the belly of the whale: ‘Laa ilaaha illa anta, subhaanaka, inni kuntu min al-zaalimeen ([none has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allaah)], Glorified (and Exalted) be You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]! Truly, I have been of the wrongdoers.’When Moslem recites this du’a for any matter, Allah will answer him.” (Tirmidhi, 3383).
It is as well quoted in Quran Abiya 21:87:
“And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, “There is no God except You; glory are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers“
41. Dua After the sun passed its Zenith
Narrated by Abd-Allaah ibn Saaib, the Prophet (PBUH) use to pray four rakaat after sun has passed its zenith and before Zuhur time. He said:
“This is the time when the gates of paradise are opened and I want a good deed of mine to ascend during that time” (Tirmidhi)
