Every each day is indeed a good day in Islam. However, some days are said to be having its own specialty and treated differently by Muslims. For example is Friday, where Muslims perform Friday prayer in the middle of the day, but there’s no Monday prayer, Tuesday prayer, and so on.
Due to the many of the past events happen in Wednesday, there is also significant importance of Wednesday in Islam. So Here are some of the importance of Wednesday for every Muslim:
1. Good Day to Make Dua
Everyday is a good day to make dua, but there are certain times where your dua will never be rejected by Allah SWT. Wednesday being one of those special times. It was narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said,
“Rasulullah (peace be upon him) had made du’a to Allah in Masjidul Fath (in Madinah) on a Monday, a Tuesday and a Wednesday. His du’a was accepted between Zuhr and ‘Asr on the Wednesday. Sayyiduna Jabir says: ‘ Whenever I had a need, I waited for that moment on a Wednesday and made du’a. Every time I did so, I noticed my du’a being accepted.” – Bukhari and Ahmad

2. The Day Allah SWT Creates a Light
For every each day of the week, Allah has made certain creations. Including in Wednesday where Allah SWT creates noor (light) on that day. I was narrated from Abu Hurairah who said,
“The Messenger of Allah took my hand and said: ‘Allah, (Glorified and Exalted is He,) created the earth on Saturday, and over it He created the mountains on Sunday. He created the trees on Monday, He created things entailing labor on Tuesday, He created light on Wednesday, He scattered the animals in it on Thursday, and He created Adam, peace be upon him, after ‘Asr on Friday, the last of creation in the last hour of Friday, between ‘Asr and nightfall.” – Muslim
The Hadith is strengthened by a piece of verse in the Quran:
“…and Allah will definitely complete his nur.” – At-Tawba (9:32)

3. Every Work Will be Successful
Another importance of Wednesday in Islam is the day being a good day to start work. No work will not be successful if its started on Wenesday.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said,
“Nothing is commenced on Wednesday but that it reaches completion.”

4. One of the Cursed Day
Not only because of all the virtues and goodness, the importance of Wednesday in Islam also come from some unfortunate events in the past that make Wednesday as a cursed day. Wednesday turned out to be the day where Allah SWT drowned Pharaoh on this day. As said in a narration,
When the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon Him was asked about Wednesday he replied, “It’s a cursed day.” When asked, “And how is that, O Allah’s Messenger?” He replied, “Because Allah Almighty had drowned Pharaoh on this day and He perished the nation of ‘Aad and Thamood on this day.”

5. A Condemn Day
In a narration, it is said that Wednesday is called a condemned day by the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)
A pious alim said that he saw the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon Him – in his dream. The Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon Him – said to him, “Did you not listen to my Hadeeth about the condemnation of cutting nails on Wednesday?”

Here are several important events that occurred on Wednesday in the past:
It is said that ‘Auj Ibn ‘Unuq by Hudhud is a giant that rise so tall and the day where Prophet Musa (AS) defeated him was Wednesday. To assist the Prophet (AS), Allah SWT sent a woodpecker who brings a diamond. The diamond was then placed in top of mountain that turned out to be the head of ‘Auj Ibn ‘Unuq by Hudhud.
Korah is the uncle of Prophet Musa, whose had a good look that he was praised by everyone in the country. He was also a good scholar. However his personality changed as soon as he acquired limitless wealth. He became the worst enemy of Prophet Musa (AS) himself. Korah’s life came to and end on Wednesday.
Wednesday was indeed an important day for Prophet Musa (AS). Many of his enemies died on the day. The legend story about how Pharaoh and his army drowned in the Nile River happened on Wednesday. The water was split into two, making way for Prophet Musa (AS) and his followers to pass through. However, Pharaoh never make it and get drowned by Allah SWT.
The evil king Namrood was the worst enemy of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). The Prophet (AS) was about to face Namrood’s 700,000 army with latest weaponry. He made dua to Allah SWT, and as the answer He sent him mosquito from the sea. The battlefield then full of mosquito who drank the flesh and blood of the Namrood’s army and eventually bring him to and end when it entered his brain and ate it continually for 40 days.
