For various kind of our problems and wishes there are only Allah SWT could accommodate that. Even Allah SWT know more than what we wish before we said it first in our dua, since Allah is The Omniscient. Through dua itself Allah SWT provide assistance or help to His servant who is in trouble.

Here are an explanations about the reasons your duas are not answered by Allah SWT,
1. Self, Doa, and Forbidden Things (Haram)
One of the reasons why dua would not be granted by Allah SWT is because ourselves that full of sins. Human actually never escaped from a mistake. Yet Allah always open His door of forgiveness since Allah is The Most Generous and Loving. But human more often neglectful about theirself and do not repent it immediately (doing tawba).
So it is with what already became the outcome of sins, such as Big Sins and Little Sins. What forbidden, including clothes, foods, and drinks, all together will become a barrier for dua to be granted. Rasulullah SAW said as follow:
“O all human, indeed Allah is generous. He never accept something but good itself. And in fact Allah gave an order to all the mu’min (people who believe) as what He ordered to The Massengers of Allah. His commandment : ‘O, All The Massenger of Allah! and eat from good things (halal) and perform the good deeds. Indeed I am The Omniscient about what you’ve been done’. And Allah also said : ‘O you who believe! Eat of the good things that We have provided for you and be gratefull to Allah, if it is Him that you worship’.
Later, The Prophet shallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam told the story of a man that already walk for such a long time because of the distance. Untul his hair is crumpled, tangled, and dusty. That man lift his hand to the sky while praying : “O my Almighty God, my Almighty God.” Whereas his foods, his drinks, and clothes came from forbidden things (haram) and fed with haram foods, then how Allah will grant his wishes?” (Hadith of Muslim)
2. Wish (Pray) for Something Good
It never be granted by Allah, a Dua which contain anything of sins and that will break or cut silaturrahim (friendship or good relationship ties). From Abu Hurairah, Rasulullah SAW said :
“A person’s Dua will always be granted as long as he does not wish for sinfulness or to break silaturrahim (good relationship) ties dan he is not in haste.” A companion asked, ‘O Rasulullah, what the meaning of haste?’ Then Rasulullah SAW answered : ‘The meaning of haste is if the one pray and said : ‘I already pray and kept pray but yet be granted.’ And soon after, he felt in despair and never pray anymore.’ (Hadith of Muslim)

Pray with an empty heart means we are not focused on what we said to Allah SWT. There are no different when we talk to other people but we do not want to look at their eyes. What we said will looks like a mere lie and had no meaning at all. At the end, we would not take serious on what we pray for. [AdSense-B]

4. Abandoned to Enjoining Good and Forbidding Wrong (Amar Ma’ruf Nahi Munkar)
When we neglected all the good deeds that suitable with Shari’a, then our Dua won’t be granted since what we done are merely sins. From Hudzaifah bin Al Yaman from Rasulullah SAW said, which means :
“By Him in whose hand my life is, you either ejoining good and forbid evil, or Allah will certainly soon send His punishment to you. Then you will make supplication and it will not be granted.” (Hadit of At-Tirmidhi)
