- Education is obligatory for every Muslim
In the view of Islam, an education is obligatory for every Muslim. As the first word revealed by Allah Almighty to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Allah says in Quran.
“Read: In the name of thy Lord Who created,” (Verse 96: 1)
2. Education is the way to get closer
The education is the way we as Muslims to get closer to Allah Almighty. In Islam, the role of education is very important. Reading is a concept of learning to explore science. In the same Surahs, Allah says.
“Created man from a clot.And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, Who teacheth by the pen, Teacheth man that which he knew not.”(Verse 96: 2-5)

“Allah (Himself) is Witness that there is no Allah save Him. And the angels and the men of learning (too are a witness). Maintaining His creation in justice, there is no Allah save Him the Almighty, the Wise.” (Verse 3:18)

“Then exalted be Allah, the True King! And hasten not (O Muhammad) with the Qur’an ere its revelation hath been perfected unto thee, and say: My Lord! Increase me in knowledge.” (Verse 20: 114)
6. Education as a tool for attaining faith

“He giveth wisdom unto whom He will, and he unto whom wisdom is given, he truly hath received abundant good. But none remember except men of understanding.” (Verse 2: 269)

“And of men and beasts and cattle, in like manner, divers hues? The erudite among His bondmen fear Allah alone. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Forgiving.” (Verse 35:28)
8. The virtue of education

“Is he who payeth adoration in the watches of the night, prostrate and standing, beware of the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord, (to be accounted equal with a disbeliever)? Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Are those who know equal with those who know not? But only men of understanding will pay heed.” (Verse 39:9)
9. Knowledge’s charity
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasizes that the charity of useful knowledge will continue to flow to the death. Here are 3 repetitive charity until when we are dead.
“When a man dies, his actions will end, but three, a recurring charity, or knowledge (where people benefit), or a righteous son, who is praying for him (the deceased). “(Muslim)
10. Knowledge that wrote in the Quran
In the Quran also has taught about several teachings, such as about milk production and pulmonary circulation. Allah says in the Quran.
” And lo! in the cattle there is a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, from betwixt the refuse and the blood, pure milk palatable to the drinkers.”
(Verse 16:66)

12. Knowledge of Who created the heavens and earth

“He hath created the heavens and the earth with truth. He maketh night to succeed day, and He maketh day to succeed night, and He constraineth the sun and the moon to give service, each running on for an appointed term. Is not He the Mighty, the Forgiver?” (Verse 39:5)
13. Other sign the Power of Allah Almighty
In one of this verse, it tells about the sign of the power of Allah Almighty. With this sign of power, we are expected as Muslims to worship Allah Almighty.
“We have built the heaven with might, and We it is Who make the vast extent (thereof).”
(Verse 51:47)
14. Knowledge of flying birds
One of the powers of Allah SWT shown to us Muslims is about the birds flying in the sky.
The knowledge of flying birds is also a knowledge for us as Muslims. If Allah Almighty did not create the air, the bird would not allow it to fly and would surely fall to the ground.
“Have they not seen the birds obedient in mid-air? None holdeth them save Allah. Lo! herein, verily, are portents for a people who believe.” (Verse 16:79)
15. The knowledgeable people

Ibnu Abbas said that Allah Almighty will exalt the Muslims as far as 700 degrees. One degree is equivalent to a 500-year journey.
“O ye who believe! when it is said unto you, Make room! in assemblies, then make room; Allah will make way for you (hereafter). And when it is said, Come up higher! go up higher; Allah will exalt those who believe among you and those who have the knowledge, to high ranks. Allah is Informed of what ye do.” (Verse 58:11)
16. Believer and its knowledge
The education, once again is very important, especially for Muslims. One of the hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that who is a believer and has knowledge is the heir of the prophets.
“Those who are knowledgeable are the heirs of the prophets” (Narrated by Abu Daud, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Ibn Hibban)
17. Benefits of knowledge
The virtue of knowledge for a Muslim is that he will provide the benefits needed by the people around him. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said in one of his hadiths.
“The main human being is a believer who has knowledge. If he is needed, then he gets the benefits. And if he is not needed then he can benefit himself “. (Al-Baihaqi)
18. Right direction of knowledge
An education sometimes gives a right direction and that is good. This is the reward and sin that we receive if our education can be lead a right or wrong direction. Below here is the hadith.
“Whosoever shall guide upon the guidance, for him the reward of the reward of the one who follows it, shall not be minus any of the rewards. Whoso invites unto error, for his sin as the sins of the one who follows him, not minus any of them “(Muslim)
19. Knowledge of life and hereafter

“Demanding knowledge, actually studying is the approach of self to Allah Almighty and teach it to people who do not know it is shadaqah. Indeed science puts its people, in dignity and honor (high). Science is a beauty to the experts in the world and in the hereafter.” (HR Ar-Rabii ‘)
21. Knowledge better than perform Sunnah prayer
This following hadith says that it is better to teach one chapter of science than to practice one hundred rak’ah sunnah. Here is the hadith.
“O Aba Dzar, you go teach the verse of the Book better for you than the one-hundredth prayer (sunnah) and go teach one chapter of science whether implemented or not, it is better than a thousand rak’ah prayer.” (Ibn Majah)
22. Knowledge teaches us how to respect and behave
Why is knowledge highly emphasized on Muslims? With science will teach us how to behave and maintain self-respect.
“Seek science and study (for knowledge) peace and self-respect, and be humble to the one who teaches you.” (HR Ath-Thabrani)
23. Say it honestly
If you give knowledge to someone, let’s say it honestly. Surely punishment in science is more severe than betrayal in wealth. Below here is the following hadith.
“Be honest with each other in science and do not keep each other secret. Truly betrayed in science is more severe in punishment than treason in treasure.” (HR Abu Na’im)
24. The unbeneficial knowledge

25. Knowledge related to paradise
Knowledge is not only about the world, nor the Hereafter. Knowledge of religion also needs to be learned by every Muslim because with the science of religion we will be able to enjoy the paradise garden.
“When you pass through the gardens of paradise, drink until satisfied. The Companions asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what are the gardens of paradise?” The Prophet replied, “Majelis taklim.” (HR Ath-Thabrani)
