10 Proper Way How To Dress Up for Muslim Woman

Women in Islam are very protected by and their degree is very high because besides  they can be both weak and  strong creature because women can do and experience things that men can not do or experience like menstruating, pregnancy, childbirth, menopause and others.

But besides that, women also often become one source of negative ‘slander’ that disadvantage many parties, especially in terms of awrah and clothing that are worn to cover the awrah.

Regarding this matter Allah has said in  an-Nuur Surah verse 31 which explains that:

And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears“(An Nuur Surah: 31).

As a simple example, an open and transparent woman’s outfit will awaken a man’s passions or passions so that ultimately many criminal and immoral acts result from it.

Islam itself has set about good and proper clothing arrangements for Muslim women as a form of self-care and their awrah and  lso as a form of piety towards Allah subhanalahu wa ta’ala.

1. Closing the Awrah

The whole body of a woman is awrah except the face and palms and the tips of his fingers only. The long clothes and veils hanging over the chest are one of the clothing that is recommended in Islam.

This has been clearly said in the al-Qur’an in al-Ahzaab Surah verse 59 which means:

“O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful. (Al Ahzaab Surah: 59).

In fact, some women wear a veil to cover her face and leaving only part of her eyes are open because the face of women is the same as other body parts that have a beauty and can trigger the emergence of negative lust of men who intensely look at it directly in a long time. 2. Using Loose Clothes

Using loose clothing is one attempt to cover the awrah as well, since closing the awrah is not only about covering the body part but also disguise the curves of the body so that women’s curves are not imprinted on the tight clothes they wear.

For that Islam requires women to wear loose clothing. In addition, in the world of health also recommends loose clothing. Beside based on health aspect, it is suggested that to wear loose clothes in order to make our body has a free space and breathing space for our skin.

3. Avoid Syuhroh Clothing

The syuhroh outfit is a garment that draws a lot of attention, whether it is too fancy or too unsuitable to wear or clothes that do not adjust to time and place. (Also read: How to Help Someone with Depression in Islam)

From Abdullah bin ‘Umar, the Prophet sallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam said:

“Whoever wore the clothes of the Syuhroh in the world, Allah will wear the clothes of disgrace upon them on the Day of Resurrection, then burn it with the Fire of Hell.” (Narrated by Abu Daud and Ibn Majah)

4. Using Simple Clothes

In terms of the simplicity of clothing and appearance, both men and women are equally encouraged to wear simple clothes. Because the clothes that are too flashy will attract more men’s views and causes another ‘slander’ like feeling inferior, jealous, envy, arrogant and even arrogant either to the wearer or the person who saw it. 5. Using Clothing with Thick Material (Not Transparent)

This has been alluded that in the previous point that closing the awrah is not just about covering only the body parts but also to disguise the curves of the body so as not to be imprinted on a transparent or tight clothing. Although the clothes are loose but if the material is thin and transparent then the curves of body will still be visible vaguely.

In a shohih hadith, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said:

“Two classes of hellish inhabitants I have never seen: A people who have whips, like cow tails to beat people and women dressed but naked, waddled, their heads like a crooked camel’s hump, such a woman will not go to heaven and will not smell it, even though it smells during this trip and this. “(HR.Muslim).

6. Avoid Clothes That Resemble Men’s Clothes

Islam is very firm on how women are not allowed to wear clothes or look like men, and vice versa. (Read also: Prayer to Look Beautiful Everyday in Islam)

This has been explained in the hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah ra

Rasulullah SAW will curse men who wear women’s clothes and women who wear men’s clothes.”

Then Ibn Abbas radhiyallahu ‘anhu also said:

The Messenger of Allah cursed men who resembled women and women who resembled men.” (Narrated by Bukhari)

7. Avoiding Clothes That Resemble an Infidel

Muslim women’s clothing will obviously be very different from infidel’s clothes and people from other religions, the arrangement of Islam in the case of clothing not only to put forward the matter of fashion or the function of clothing worn by a person but more than that, namely awrah and all ‘slander’ which may be arising from the body of a human being. 8. Not Using Fragrances

Islam does not allow Muslim women to use perfumes on their way out of the house. Without the use of fragrances, women can make a lot of ‘slander’ especially if they use a fragrance, fragrance that is smelled by men can attract more attention even arouse passion or lust to do seduction or even do more harmful and degrading the woman. A Hadith From Abu Musa Al Asy’ary explains that the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said:

Any woman who uses perfumes, then passes men to get the smell, then she is an adulterer woman.” (Narrated by An Nasa’i, Abu Daud, Tirmidhi and Ahmad).

9. Avoid Dressy Clothes

Clothes which are adorned with various colors and pictures are not recommended for Muslim women if the image is a picture of living things that have an absolute spirit like animals and humans.

In addition, drawings or writings that can cause division and war also not allowed in Islam like symbol of political or writing part that contains elements of ”SARA” or other. (Read also: Law Female Leads Prayer)

10. Avoiding Tabarruj

Tabarruj is a woman’s misbehavior that shows things that have to be covered by the veil by showing her crown, jewelry and beauty and everything in her body that should be covered behind her veil because it can tempt men.

Allah Ta’ala says in al-Ahzaab surah verse 33 which means:

And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance” (al Ahzaab Surah: 33).
