Duha prayer is one type of Sunnah prayer and we do it in Duha time. Duha time is a time when sun has risen around 7 cubits until the time of Fard prayer (benefits of Zuhr prayer). It may be around 7 a.m to 11 a.m. However, this is not absolute because the position of sun in each region is different and it influences Duha time.
Duha prayer can be done alone. The preferred time to do Duha prayer is in the second quarter day or around 9 a.m. The great antecedences of Duha prayer are launching our trade with dhikr because dhikr can open fortunes. Besides that, if you done Duha prayer, your wish will be granted by Allah quickly.

Duha prayer is done with the provision of one salaam for every two rakaat. Meanwhile, some ulama have different opinions about total rakaat of Duha prayer. Some ulama said that Duha prayer is done maximum 8 rakaat, and some ulama said that it is unlimited.
In the school of Maliki, Syafi’i and Hambali, they chosen eight rakaat as the maximum rakaat of Duha prayer. They used argument from Umi Hani RA, that Rasulullah S.A.W entered his house when fathu Mecca and he prayed eight rakaat. (Bukhari and Muslim)
In the school of Hanafi, he chosen twelve rakaat as the maximum rakaat of Duha prayer. It is based on hadith from Anas RA :
“Whoever do Duha prayer 12 rakaat, Allah will make a palace for him in the heaven.” (Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Al-Mundziri in Targhib wat Tarhib)
But this hadith is dhaif hadith.
The opinion that there is no limit about maximum rakaat in Duha prayer which is confirmed by As-Suyuthi in Al-Hawi. Suyuthi in his fatwa declared,
“There is no hadith that limit Duha prayer with a certain rakaat, whereas the opinion of some ulama that the maximum rakaat of Duha prayer is 12 rakaat is the opinion that does not have base as it was hinted by Al-Hafidz Abul Fadl Ibn Hajar and others.”
As the common of sunnah prayer, Duha prayer is done as the movement of another sunnah prayer.
“Ushalli sunnatadh-dhuhaa rak’ataini lillaahi ta’aala.”
Its mean : “I attempt to Duha prayer two rakaat because Allah Ta’ala.”

The Prophet Muhammad S.A.W said :
“In each one of you there is alms, every tasbih (Subhanallah) is alms, every tahmid (Alhamdulillah) is alms, every tahlil (lailahaillallah) is alms, every takbir is alms, tell to goodness is alms, prevent from apostasy is alms.
