Prayer is the second pillars of Islam after shahada. This obligation applies to all of Moslems who have been baligh as a form and a benefit of faith to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’la.
Of course, if we do not do prayers, we will get a big sin. As Ulama said that Prayers are a foundation of religion. Prayers are forts that can protect human from all forms of bad deeds (Immorality and wrongdoing). As Allah Ta’ala said,
إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ تَنْهَى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنْكَرِ
“Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing.” (Q.S. Al-Ankabut : 45)
A Moslem who is diligent to do five daily prayers will always get blessings and happiness in his life. Because prayer is a way to get calmness and comfort in life. It must can be a street lighting when we have left this world. As a hadith below :
“Prayer is light.” (Narrated by Muslim number 223)
Because of that, doing prayers are obliged to do by all of Moslems in the world. If we do prayers, we are not only get rewards in our lives, but Islam as a perfect religion gives special points and rewards in its good deeds. As a good deed when a Moslem wait the time of prayers.

وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ خَيْرَ أَعْمَالِكُمُ الصَّلاَةُ
“Know, the best good deed for you is prayer.” (Narrated by Ibn Majah number 277, Ad Darimi number 655 and Ahmad (5/282))

- Get Dua from Angel
The first virtue of waiting praying time is a Moslem will be prayed by angel. As Imam Muslim narrated from Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu anhu, indeed Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said :
أَحَدُكُمْ مَا قَعَدَ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلاَةَ فِيْ صَلاَةٍ مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ تَدْعُوْ لَهُ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ :اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ اَللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْهُ.”
“Is not someone of you sit to wait prayer, as long as he is in a state of purity, but angles will pray him. ‘O Allah, forgive him. O Allah, love him.’

- It is counted as a prayer until the time of prayer arrives
A hadith said that :
فَإِذَا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ كَانَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ مَا كَانَتِ الصَّلاةُ هِيَ تَحْبِسُهُ
“If he has entered the mosque, then he was counted in prayer during he waited prayer.” (Narrated by Al-Bukhari number 131 and Muslim number 649)

- Get a efficacious time after adhan, until the time of prayers arrives
The next importance of waiting praying time is getting a efficacious time. This efficacious time is a time where all of dua will be heard directly by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. So, it will be easier to be granter by Him.
As a hadith wich reads :
“Indeed dua that is not reject is dua between adhan and istiqamah, then pray (at that time).” (Narrated by Ahmad 3/155, Tirmidzi 212)

- Can erase sins
In a hadith, Rasulullah Shallallahu “alaihi wa sallam said,
“Then That is a parable of five daily prayers, by it Allah erases sins.” (Narrated by Bukhari number 528 and Muslim number 667)

- Increase your fame
The next virtue of waiting praying time is Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’la will increase your fame. In this case, the reward and fame of loyal people who wait praying time will be equated with the fame of people who do prayers on time.
- Get Rewards
Fulan narrated to me, indeed Rasulullah Shallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said :
لاَ يَزَالُ أَحَدُكُمْ فِيْ صَلاَةٍ مَا دَامَ فِيْ مُصَلاَّهُ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلاَةَ.
“One of you always get a reward of prayers as long as he is in the mosque (where he prays) to wait prayer”
- Your dua will be granted
Pray when we are waiting the time of prayer because Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said :
إِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ لاَ يُرَدُّ بَيْنَ اْلأَذَانِ وَاْلإِقَامَةِ، فَادْعُوْا.
“Indeed dua (that is offered) between adhan and iqamat will been never rejected because of that pray.”

- Keep personal and heart hygiene
By waiting praying time, then we will be always cleaner our heart and we are ready to meet Allah Subahanhu Wa Ta’ala. Because keeping personal and heart hygiene can be done by doing prayers on time.
- Fortify our selves from vices
When we are waiting the time of prayers, of course our mind will focus to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. Because of that, we will not do vices and we will avoid vices indirectly.
- Invite another good nesses
Waiting praying time can invite another good nesses. While waiting praying time, we can another good nesses such as importance of reciting Al-Qur’an, importance of dhikr, virtue of ikhtikaf, and many more. Because of that, one goodness will always bring another good nesses.
- As a proof the love of servant to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala
The next virtues of waiting praying time is it can be a proof the love of servant to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. When he is in love, he will always await a meeting. So, when the time of meeting is coming, he will be not late, but he will be always on time.
Similarly, when a servant love his Lord very much. Then we will be never late to wait the meeting time.
The Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam has said,
إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا صَلَّى يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ…
“Indeed if a servant do prayer, then he is praying to his Rabb…”
- The reward and virtue as a person who keeps in the boundary of Moslem state and Infidel state.
Rasulullah SAW said :
“Should I not suggest to you that by which Allah obliterates the sins and elevates the ranks (of a man).” They said : ‘Yes, Messenger of Allah.’ He said : ‘Performing the ablution thoroughly despite odds, tranverside of more paces towards the mosque and waiting for the next prayer after observing a prayer and that is mindfulness (ribath).” (Narrated by Muslim number 251)
- Bring Blessings
The hadith of Burairah, the Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam said,
بَشِّرِ الْمَشَّائِينَ فِى الظُّلَمِ إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ بِالنُّورِ التَّامِّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
“Give good news for a person who go to the mosque in the dark that he will get a perfect lighting in the Hereafter.” (Narrated by Abu Daud number 561 and Tirmidzi number 233, Al Hafizh Abu Thohir said that this hadith is shaheeh)
