Ramadhan is the ninth month in Islamic calendar. It is one of the most waited month by Muslim in all around the world. Ramadhan is very special since the entire of month, each days, each second is blessed by Allah SWT. The meaning of Ramadhan
We never knew how long we could alive in this world. Our lifetime is unknown, we never knew this year or next year or maybe whenever year will be our last chance to welcoming ramadhan right? Here are the 13 reason of why muslim must happy to welcome ramadhan, as our reminder.
1. A month full of reward

2. A month were the gate of paradise is widely open
During ramadhan the gate to enter the paradise is widely open, while the gate to the hellfire is close. As mentioned in the following hadith.
“When Ramadan enters, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed and the devils are chained”

3. A month in which Quran was sent down
Quran is the muslims source of knowledge, guidance, history, and holy book which was sent down in the month of Ramadhan. It’s also the reason wy muslim must happy to welcome ramadhan, since it’s very important and overflowing by nobility.
“The month of Ramadhan (is that) in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights (the new moon of) the month, let him fast it, and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and (wants) for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.

4. Lailatul Qadr
In ramadhan there is a night that worth with 1.000 of month which called as lailatul qadr. As mentioned in the verse below,
“Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.”

5. A chance to seek forgiveness
During ramadhan, Allah gives muslim and all the people to seek forgiveness. If we do repentance submissively then Allah may forgive our sins before. As reported by Abu Hurairah that Rasulullah said in the following hadith,
“Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven.”

6. A month to celebration
All the holy month in Islam is celebration, including ramadhan. But it became a massive celebration among muslims, all muslims are trying to give their best in front of Allah. Both in wordly matter and religious matter.
In Indonesia itself to welcome ramadhan there are festival or event are organized. Not only something that wastes money but an event or festivals to share with others especially poor people.
7. A month to control ourselves

Rasulullah said in the following hadith,
“Fasting is a shield, so when one of you is fasting he should neither indulge in obscene language nor should he raise his voice in anger. If someone attacks him or insults him, let him say: “I am fasting!”

Yes, for people who now stay far away from their family, ramadhan is also chance for the to met their family. Sometimes even we live in the same place or city we never have a chance to meet each other. But with ramadhan we sometimes have chance for gathering such as breaking the fast together or gathering when Eid Al-Fitr is coming.
9. So many joy
The Prophet said in one of the hadith below,
“There are two occasions of joy for a fasting person: one when he breaks his fast, and the other when he meets his Lord, and the (bad) breath (of a fasting person) is better in the sight of Allah than the fragrance of musk.”

10. A month our dua will be granted
In ramadhan, the chance of our dua to be granted by Allah SWT will be even greater than other months. As mentioned before that during ramadhan the gate to paradise is open while the gate to hellfire is close. It means that if we perform dua during ramadhan there will be a greater opportunity that our dua will reached Allah SWT and grant by Him. Just remember that there are dua for the last day of ramadhan that are important for us.
11. Protection from hellfire
From Abdullah ibn Amr reported that Rasulullah said,
“Fasting and the Qur’an will intercede on behalf of Allah’s servant on the Day of Judgment: Fasting will say, ‘O my Lord! I prevented him from food and desires during the day, so accept my intercession for him.’ And the Qur’an will say, ‘O my Lord! I prevented him from sleeping by night, so accept my intercession for him.’ The intercession of both will thus be accepted.”

12. Moral training
Fasting during ramadhan also help us to train our moral and emphaty. We will feel much more grateful and blessed by performing fasting and all obligatory worship during ramadhan.

Indeed, if we commit on performing every worship including prayer, fasting, and controlling our mind and behavior as the ramadhan reach it’s end, we will as if born to be a new person.
