Pray, hope, and wishes from a mother will absolutely granted and as a child, we need and crave for that. As a mother Allah prioritize her wishes, this is because there is a lot of reason why a mother is a special being that Allah has created. Allah will and surely lift the place of a mother who raises her kids with a life full of love, attention, and compassion. For a mother, nurturing her kids counts as jihad and Allah reward someone who done it very kindly, a special place in his heaven.
There are lots of prayers we or anyone can recite, example such as this:
- Quran Dua achieve success,
- Powerful Dua to Get Married,
- Dua in tahajjud,
- Dua to Increase Memory in Islam
- Dua from those who get bullied,
- Dua when burying the dead,
- Dua for Journey in Islam
- Dua in menstruation bath,
- Dua to Make Friends in Islam
- Dua nurbuat, etc
Yes, indeed those prayers will be heard because Allah hears everything. But a prayer from a mother held a special place for Allah. Our parent’s prayer to us valued a lot better than from someone else’s. This statement is proven by a hadeeth, it goes like this, “Three Prayer (Dua) which is mustajab (effective) and cannot be denied, is a prayer from parents, prayer from someone on safar (travel), and prayer from someone who got bullied.” (Abu Daud)
This is why it is very reasonable if a child needs to be grateful and respectful towards their parents who raised them properly and as hard as they can. Doing everything and giving everything for their child, their very best even if they have to give their life. Parents, especially mother have done great things, by raising, caring, educating, and nurture us until we had this level of maturity, intelligence, and character.
Importance of Mother’s Prayer
Inside the holy Al Quran and information from hadeeth, there is a lot of explanation about the importance of parents, especially mother. These important points are the reason why a mother’s prayer is very powerful and heard. To get to this stage, of course, we have to get our mother to the point where she wants to pray for us unconditionally, from her deepest wish. Because no matter what, Allah will hear her prayer. The best we make her wish us the best, not the other way around. When she does, Allah will hear it and we will be punished severely.
Al Quran and Sunnah, taught a lot of things about the importance of a mother. This importance must be understood so we can learn, remember, and do better. Here is the explanation, why it is very important.

1. Took Care Since We were Unborn
“And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, “My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims.”(Quran: Al-Ahqaaf 15)
[AdSense-B]
Allah SWT orders us, human, to be good and always be kind to our own parents, more importantly the mother who bear us when we are unborn. Conceiving us for 9 months, breastfeeding us, and nurturing a child is not an easy task but required a huge sacrifice. For that, how doomed we are if Allah knows that we misbehave, rude, or even become an insolent child.
As a child, it is the responsibility and obligation to wish her well and care for her. Do the best so the only pray that came out of her mouth is for your well being, success, and health. This will be the best thing for the family.
2. She Give Birth to Her Son
“And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.” (Quran: Luqman 14)
[AdSense-A]
A mother who raises a child did it very hard, already give birth to her child in a lot of pain she then has to breastfeed her child for at least 12 months but in Islam, it is advised until 24 months. We need to honor her sacrifice and hardship and not treat her badly. Her prayer can be the only thing that keeps us safe both in this life or in the next one. It is one thing that is priceless and you cannot find it in another way.
3. Mentioned Three Times By Rasulullah
“From Abu Hurairah radhiyallaahu ‘anhu, he said, “Someone came to Rasulullah shalallahu ‘alaihi wasallam and ask him a question, ‘‘O Rasulullah! Who among the people is the most worthy of my respect and honor? Rasulullah said: Your mother. The man said, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man further asked, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man asked again, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your father.” (Bukhari, Muslim)
Mother has many privileges that much much greater, as for how Rasulullah mentions her name in three times before father. It is shown that mother truly has an importance in Allah point of view and to get her to wish or pray for us willingly is, without a doubt, heard and granted (mustajab).
For that, it is best to pray for her also, for her well being, benevolence, and love. Keep her happy and well, never ever hurt her feeling, treat her well. A lot of people tend to forget their mother when they are rich and successful. However, behind the success, there is a mother who will absolutely pray for the best for her child. The one person who willing to give us her very best without hoping something in return.
There are already lots of stories about a filial and ungrateful child, who forget and disobey their own mother. This stories can be used to educate our kids so they can be a good child and grow into a fine adult. Then passed into their child, continuing the generations of kind and good Moslem.
4. Mother Has a Special Bond to Her Child
A mother, because she has raised her child, breastfeed, and nurture her child, developed a special bond a strong connection to her child. That is why a lot of mothers can understand what are they child feeling or what is on their mind. A pray from your mother is based on something way stronger than any other feelings, it is not just in their mouth.
These things become the importance of a mother prayer, it will help and ease us because her prayer is special in Allah’s point of view. So, be grateful to your mother, be respectful, love her, and treat her right. As well as do Prayer for Parents Health. Then, learn more about Importance of Respecting Your Parents in Islam.
