15 Types of Salat Prayer We Need To Do As Muslim

Prayer is a religious pillar. Whoever established it then really has established the religion (Islam) it and who doesn’t, will receive a big sin that will come in hell later. Prayer is the second pillar of the five pillars of Islam, and prayer is the pillar most emphasized after two sentences of creed. Daily Prayer

Here is presented the daily salat we must do as Muslim.

1. Subuh (Fajr) Prayer

 Establish the prayer, at the decline (of) the sun till (the) darkness (of) the night and Quran at dawn, indeed, the Quran (at) the dawn is ever witnessed. (Surah Al Isra’ : 78)

Subuh Prayer is a two rak’ah that must be done when the white light appears on the eastern horizon until the sun has not risen on the western horizon. The number of rak’ah at dawn is 2 rak’ah that will end with one greeting. One time leave this salat will be put into hell for 30 years the same as 60,000 years in the world.

The virtue of subuh Prayer:

  1. One of the causes of entering heaven.
  2. Being in the guarantee of Allah SWT.
  3. Calculated as full overnight Prayer.
  4. Witnessed by angels.
  5. Released from the nature of the hypocrites.
  6. A victory by seeing Allah SWT on the Day of Judgment later.

2. Zuhr Prayer

Zuhr salat is a prayer done at noon at around 12 noon, the number of rak’ah at Zuhr prayer there are 4 rak’ah. Zuhr prayer time is when the sun slips and done when the shadow of an object into the same thing. One time leave the Zuhr prayer, then sin is the same as killing 1,000 people of Islam.

The virtue of dzuhur salat :

  • Zuhr prayer is the time when the sky door is being opened.
  • Forbidden from the fire of Jahannam hell.

3. Ashar Prayer

And establish the prayer (at the) two ends (of) the day and (at) the approach of the night. Indeed, the good deeds remove the evil deeds. That (is) a reminder for those who remember. ( Surah Al Huud : 114)

Ashar Prayer time begins if the length of the shadow of the object exceeds the length of the object itself. One time leaving his sin is the same as closing / tearing down the Ka’bah. As well as Zuhr it done by doing 4 Rak’ah once you do Ashar Prayer.

The virtue of Ashar prayer :

  • The practice that leads to heaven.

4. Maghrib Prayer

Maghrib prayer is the fourth daily prayer in Islam, performed at dusk or sunset. The time of Maghrib prayer begins after sunset so that the red clouds disappear on the western horizon. One time leave this prayer, his sin is to commit adultery with a parent.

The virtue of Maghrib salat :

  • Increase the activity of the body.
  • The right moment for silence and devoted.

5. Isya Prayer

Isya Salat is the last daily salat in Islam. For reasons of the perfection of Isya salat, it is emphasized to be done before midnight or one-third night and does not exceed mid-night time unless there is udzur. Sunnah Prayer

1. Rawwatib Prayer

Rawatib Salat is a salat of the sunnah performed before or after salat five times. When it is performed before salat, it is obligatory called salat sunnah qobliyah. While after the prayer, it is obligatory called salat sunnah ba’diyah. The priority of Rawatib salat :

“Whoever consents to the prayer of the Sunnah of twelve raka’at in a day, then God will raise him a house in heaven. The twelve raka’at are four raka’at before dzuhur, two raka’at after dzuhur, two raka’at after maghrib, two raka’at after ‘Isya, and two raka’at before shubuh.

2. Taraweeh Prayer

Taraweeh prayer is the prayer of Sunnah after Isya prayer in the month of Ramadan. Referring to the number of his rakaat mentioned in the hadith.

‘What the Messenger of Allah performed, whether in the month of Ramadhan or another no more than eleven rak’ah’ (H.R. Bukhari).

From Jabir ‘The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) had prayer with them eight rak’ah, then he does Witr salat.’ (H.R Ibn Hiban)

Taraweeh prayer also one of special prayer performed solely during the month of Ramadan. Tarawih salat’s priority :

  • Will get forgiveness of past sins.
  • Tarawih salat in a congregation like full night salat.
  • Tarawih salat is mainly salat of Sunnah in a congregation.

3. Witr Prayer

Witir in language means odd. Witir prayer is a prayer performed between Isya prayer and the dawn of dawn (the time of Shubuh time), and this is the night prayer. The virtue of Witr prayer :

  1. Perfect night prayer.
  2. Allah loves Witir prayer.
  3. Accept his prayer.
  4. Never abandoned by Rasulullah SAW.
  5. Given the guidance and strength of Allah SWT

4. Awwabin Prayer

“It does not keep the Dhuha sunnah prayer but awwab is the right one (the loyal people). Here is Awwabin prayer. “

The meaning of Awwabin prayer is the sunnah prayer performed after the Maghrib prayer until Isya prayer. Awwabin prayer is named because a servant is returning to Allah SWT, and at that time many others forget about Him. Awwabin prayer’s virtue :

  1. God will keep his faith to remain in the Islamic state.
  2. Staying from su’ul khotimah’s death.
  3. It’s easy when facing deadly sakarotul.
  4. Protected from azab in the grave..
  5. It’s easy when crossing the shirot bridge.
  6. Like the reward of Lailatul Qodar.
  7. He is forgiven of his sins.
  8. The palace was built in heaven.

5. Corpse Prayer

Corpse prayer is a prayer performed as much as 4 times takbeer, and the law of the prayer of adalha fardu kifayah (obligation directed to the masses, but when some have already done then it is obligatory for others). The virtue preferences:

  • Whoever escorts the body and distributes it then gets a reward of one qirath (reward of one mountain), and who accompanies it until the completion of its, it will get two qirath.

6. Dhuha Prayer

 ‘My beloved (Messenger) has given me a message (a will) to me with three things I have never left until I die. That is the fast of three days each month, Dhuha prayer, and sleep under conditions after doing Witr prayer.’

Dhuha prayer is a sunnah prayer performed by a Muslim when entering Dhuha time. It is the time when the sun begins to rise by about 7 since the rising (around 7 am) until the time of zuhr. The number of rak’ah of prayer is at least two rak’ah and the maximum is 12 rak’ah which are two rak’ah ending with one salutation. The virtue of Dhuha prayer:

  1. It is like charity.
  2. Add charity.
  3. Earn a glorious gain or victory.
  4. Sufficient for his life.
  5. Keeping faith.

7. Istikharah Salat

Istikharah prayer is a sunnah prayer performed to seek God’s guidance by those who are among several choices and feel hesitant to choose or decide on something. Istikharah prayer can be exercised at any time but are recommended during the last one-third of the night.

The priority of Istikharah prayer :

  1. Submit all decisions and results to Allah SWT.
  2. Keeping inner peace.
  3. Strengthen heartburn.
  4. Protected from Satan’s temptations.
  5. Adding sincerity.

8. Tahajjud Prayer

Tahajjud salat is a sunnah prayer performed at night or one-third of the night. Tahajjud prayer include mua’kad salat. Sunnah mua’kad is the strengthened sunnah prayer (always performed by Rasulullah and rarely abandoned). Tahajjud prayer performed at least two rak’ah and as many as unlimited. The virtue of Tahajjud prayer :

  1. Accept the prayers.
  2. Appointed degrees.
  3. Closer to Allah SWT.
  4. Keep away from forgetfulness.
  5. Achieving victory in jihad.
  6. Face more luminous.
  7. Stay away from any illness.
  8. Husnul Khotimah.

‘And from the night arise from sleep for prayer with it (as) additional for you; it may be that will raise you your Lord (to) a station praiseworthy.’ (Surah Al Isra ‘: 79)

9. Ied Prayer

Ied prayer is a sunnah performed every Ied Fitri and Eid al-Adha. Ied prayer is included in the prayer of sunnah muakkad, meaning this prayer although it is sunnah, it is important and strongly recommended not to leave it. The virtue of this prayer :

  • The means of relationship between Muslims.
  • Celebrate victory of Muslims.

Prophet Muhammad said, “Whoever stands for worship on the eve of the night by seeking reward, his heart will not die while all of the heart die”.

10. Hajat Prayer ( Prayer of Need)

This kind of Sunnah prayer is usually done if we need something immediately and want to earn it from Almighty God. Hajat prayer is done by doing 2 Rak’ah to 12 Rak’ah with greetings in every 2 cycles. Then, it can be done except in prohibited time such as time of daily prayer.
