Almost everyone wants to be rich. In Islam, there are boundaries to gain wealth and what recommended is how to get wealth in halal way. Besides praying, there are several ways to gain wealth in Islam. Here is how to increase wealth in Islam.
- Asking Forgiveness to Allah
One of increasing the sustenance is asking forgiveness to Allah for all of the bad deeds we have done. By saying Istighfar in the multiple times, Allah will open the door of sustenance and remove all of the hardship we usually face. According to Quran 71 : 10 -12 ( Nuh):
“ And said, ‘Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers. And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers.”

2. Obedience to Allah (Taqwa)
Whoever fears Allah and piety towards him, Allah will promise to provide the sustenance that never be imagined. In contrary, whoever disbelieved to Allah (and the messenger as well), they will get what they earn (punishment for disbelieved people). As quoted in Quran 7: 96 (Al A’raf):
“And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah (taqwa), We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so we seized them for what they were earning.”
Another ayah of the Quran says that whoever fear for Allah so that Allah will solve the problem of that praying person and provide him what he does not expect. Quoted in Quran 65:2-3 (At Talaq)
“And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out. And will provide for him from where he does not expect And will provide for him from where he does not expect”

3. Grateful (Shukr) to Allah
Mostly saying thanks to Allah is by reciting Alhamdulillah ([All] praise and thanks are to Allah, Lord of the worlds). Moeslem is recommended to thank God for all the blessings given and sometimes even our prayers be blessed by Him. By admitting there is no God except Allah and always be grateful, so that Allah will promise to His slaves to give them more. According to Quran 14:7:
“If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allah), I will give you more (of My Blessings); but if you are thankless (i.e. disbelievers), verily My punishment is indeed severe”

4. Considering the Ties of Kinship (family relationship)
In Islam, it is recommended to preserve the family relationship such brothers, sisters, uncle, aunt, parents etc. They have to be important for us as well have rights upon us for we may rely on the most aspects of life to them. Allah dislikes the broken family relationship
According to Anas ibn Malik, the Messenger of Allah said :
“Whoever loves that he be granted more wealth and that his life will be prolonged then he should keep good relations of kinship” (Bukhari 5986 and Muslim 2557).
Other Hadith is narrated by Abu Huraira told that the Messenger said
“And he who believes in Allah and the Last Day, should unite his ties of kinship” (Bukhari 6138).

5. Perform Supplication Asking for Wealth
This is one of the main ways when a Muslim asks for more sustenance to Allah, which is to offer a prayer for abundant sustenance. For Allah loves people who ask for anything even it is just lace shoes.
According to hadith:
“Ask Allah for everything, even the lace of your shoes. If Allah does not provide, it will never be available.”(Tirmidhi 4/298)
Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) suggested reciting the supplication for increasing wealth after the Fajr prayer:
“Allaahumma inni as’aluka rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘ilman naafi’an, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan”
“O Allah, I ask you for halal rizq (good sustenance), beneficial knowledge and accepted good deeds.” (Narrated by Ahmad and Ibn Majaah)

6. Give Charities (Sadaqah)
This is the key to the wealth for Moeslem, since practically, if we spend our money for charities, so that God will add multiply of rizq to us and it must be that we spend our wealth sincerely because of Allah. It is quoted in Quran 2 :261 (Baqarah):
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.”
Other Quran in 34: 39 says that:
Say, “Indeed, my Lord extends provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts [it] for him. But whatever thing you spend [in His cause] – He will compensate it; and He is the best of providers.”
No matter how busy we are in our lives, we must not forget to pray Salaah on time and observe the obligatory deeds. We should not be one of those who prays hastily; instead, take out time from your busy schedule to pray and supplicate otherwise Allah will never remove poverty from us.
Abu Huraira (May Allah be pleased with Him) reported that the Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) said,
“Allah says, ‘O son of Adam! Take time out to constantly worship me, I will fill your chest with richness , and remove your poverty. And if you do not do so. I will make your hands filled with occupation, and will not remove your poverty”” [Ibn Majah].

7. Have a Time in Worshipping to Allah
As a Moslem, we must not skip praying obligatory prayer on time as well take our time for worshipping to Allah eventhough how tight our daily schedule. Allah will remove the poverty to those who take time worshipping him. According Abu Huraira narrated the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH):
“Allah says, ‘O son of Adam! Take time out to constantly worship me, I will fill your chest with richness , and remove your poverty. And if you do not do so. I will make your hands filled with occupation, and will not remove your poverty”” [Ibn Majah]Performing Hajj and Umrah

8. Performing Hajj and Umrah
Abdullah ibn Masood narrated Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said:
“Make the Hajj and Umrah repeatedly, for they remove poverty and sins as the bellows removes the impurities of iron, gold and silver, and an accepted Hajj brings no less a reward than Paradise.” [at-Tirmidhi]

9. Truthful and Fairness in Business Dealing
In Trading or Business, two parties should issue the written contract and keep communicating. If there is any defect during the transaction, it is good to let the other party know what kind of damage. As in hadith narrated by Hakim ibn Hazim that the Prophet said:
“The two parties of a transaction have the right (to annul the contract) as long as they do not separate (from each other). So, if they were truthful (to one another), and honest in explaining (the defects of an item), then they will be blessed in their transaction. But, if they lied, and hid (the defects of an item) then the blessings of their transaction are destroyed” [Narrated by Muslim 3661]

10. Asking Customer of Client to Offer Dua
If a Moeslem running a restaurant or food stall, he/ she can ask the guest who comes over to his business place (restaurant) to offer a supplication. As Quoted in hadith:
“O Allah, bless for them, that which You have provided them, forgive them and have mercy upon them”

11. Supporting Students of Islamic Knowledge
It is quoted in Hadith from Anas Ibn Malik, he said,
“There were two brothers (that lived) at the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him). One of them would come to Prophet (peace be upon him) for only study but not working, whereas the other one would seek his sustenance (by working). So the the one who used to seek his sustenance complained to the Prophet (peace be upon him) about his brother. The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, ‘It is possible that you are provided your rizq because of him’” (Tirmidhi 274)
In Islam, the existence of student for Islamic knowledge is emphasized so that most Moslems will get the benefit.

12. Work on the Sustenance Goal
According to Quran 73:20 (Al Muzzamil) which is said that whoever seek the bounty of Allah and fighting in the way of Allah, He will give the better and greater in reward:
“Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muhammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you [Muslims] will not be able to do it and has turned to you in forgiveness, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur’an. He has known that there will be among you those who are ill and others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allah and others fighting for the cause of Allah . So recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakah and loan Allah a goodly loan. And whatever good you put forward for yourselves – you will find it with Allah . It is better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah . Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.”

13. Tawakkul
Whoever put a trust in Allah, Allah provides him enough. As in quoted Quran 65:2-3 (Al Talaq):
“And when they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or part with them according to acceptable terms. And bring to witness two just men from among you and establish the testimony for [the acceptance of] Allah . That is instructed to whoever should believe in Allah and the Last day. And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out.”
Umar Ibn Khatab narrated that the Messenger of Allah saying:
“If you would trust in Allaah as He truly should be trusted in, He would surely provide for you as He provides for the birds. They set out in the morning with empty stomachs and return in the evening with full stomachs.” (Ibn Majah 4164, Tirmidhi 2344).
Other hadith narrated by Anas bin Malik:
“A Man said “O Messenger of Allah, should I thie the camel and make tawakkul?” The Messenger replied “Tie it and make tawakkul” (At-Tirmidhi).

14. Praying on Time
Obligatory player in one of Pillar of Islam of the second. By doing the prayer on time s that Allah would surely open the doors of sustenance. As quoted in Quran 20: 132 (Taha):
“And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you not for provision; We provide for you, and the [best] outcome is for [those of] righteousness”

15. Getting Married
Allah command to the single male and female slaves for united in a marriage then Allah will enrich them. As quoted in Quran 24: 32 (An Nur):
“And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing”

16. Having Children
As Allah will provide for the children and the parents, so that it is forbidden to kill the children because of the poverty. As quoted in Quran 17:31 (Al Isra):
“And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We (Allah) provide for them and for you. Indeed, the killing of them is a great sin.”

17. Hijrah
Moslem has a reason for hijrah (emigrate) from his hometown to outside in the way of Allah. There was Moslems tormented by their clan or even family for accepting Islam, had migrated to Abyssinia. Surely Allah will reward to those who leave the hometown as an Emigrant because of Allah and the Messenger of Allah. As quoted in Quran 4: 100:
“And whoever emigrates for the cause of Allah will find on the earth many locations and abundance. And whoever leaves his home as an emigrant to Allah and His Messenger and then death overtakes him – his reward has already become incumbent upon Allah . And Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful”.
According to hadith narrated by Majasi:
“I took my brother to the Prophet after the Conquest (of Mecca) and said, “O Messenger of Allah! I have come to you with my brother so that you may take a pledge of allegiance from him for migration.” The Prophet said, The migration people (i.e. those who migrated to Medina before the Conquest) enjoyed the privileges of migration (i.e. there is no need for migration anymore).” I said to the Prophet, “For what will you take his pledge of allegiance?” The Prophet said, “I will take his pledge of allegiance for Islam, Belief, and for Jihad (i.e. fighting in Allah’s Cause)”. [Bukhari 598)

18. Showing Kindness to the Poor
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:,
“The only reason that you are aided in victory (against your enemies) and provided with sustainance due to your weak?” (Bukahri 14/179)
19. Making the Hereafter One’s Main Concern
If a Muslim prioritizes hereafter over the affairs of the world, then God will ease the affairs of the world and give a rich heart. This is described in a hadith:
“Whoever puts this world as his only (and primary) goal, them Allah will divide his affairs for him, and He will place poverty before his eyes, and nothing will come to him of this world except that which was already written (i.e. pre-destined) for him. But whoever made the Hereafter his goal, the Allah will gather his affairs for him, and he will place richness in his heart, and the world will come to him conquered and submissive” (Sahihah 950)
20. Having a Good Deeds
It is quoted in Quran 28:84:
“Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it; and whoever comes with an evil deed – then those who did evil deeds will not be recompensed except [as much as] what they used to do”
21. Wake up in the Fajr
Fatimah, the daughter of Messenger of Allah, once said that when the Prophet saw her still lying on her bed in the morning, he then told her:
“My daughter, wake up and witness the mercy of God, and do not be like most people. Allah share the daily sustenance at the time from the beginning of dawn (fajr) until the rising of the sun.’ (Narrated by Al-Baihaqi)
Thus the way of Moeslem increase wealth. Keep trying and praying, for getting wealth is not instantly but by the process.
